Thoughts? Tis a little bit Factory Floor...
Its quite 80's really isn't it?
I really like it though, its got probably their best chorus since Survivalism.
stupid bloody amazon and the need to put in CC details for a free download.
Very excited by this record.
does that make Sin from 1989 factory floor-esque as well!?
(I wasn't being deadly serious!)
sounds modern and the same time like something off Pretty Hate Machine. not sure if it's him or Alan Moulder but the production's something else.
This is like nothing he's ever done. Its almost pop-punk!
although he's going to lose NIN a whole bunch of fans.
Apparently there's goth fans on the NIN boards in meltdown, definitely need to check that out.
that he's started a petition asking for it to be removed from the album:
suggesting he replace it with a cover or a demo of a 20 year old song
If nothing else, Hesitation Marks is shaping up to be a particularly interesting listen.
As with NIN generally, I love the music, but the lyrics....urgh, they're so pedestrian and elementary school-esque, and with every album they seem to be getting worse. Bits of 'With Teeth' onwards I find wholly unlistenable because of it.
I actually can't listen to The Downward Spiral as I find the lyrics so embarassing. Also agree that they seem to be getting worse - Pretty Hate Machine and Broken are ok lyrically. Ghosts I- IV is the way forward...
