Sad News. Only 44 years old.
Terrible shame. RIP
He was playing in Tim's solo band too wasn't he? Poor man. :(
Saw you live many times. Great drummer. Really sad.
and for what it is worth has been a big influence on my own playing style and learning.
A genuinely excellent and vastly underrated drummer in a band which gets far too much stick - I'd say they were easily one of the best British bands of the 90s.
Very sad news indeed, thought he was beating his illness. RIP.
A band with more than their fair share of turbulence, eh?
s/t is a longstanding favourite of mine and never disappoints whenever I go back to it. As a couple of people have said, they're hugely underrated and (despite frequent snide throwaway comments) so much more than the just-another-90s-indie-band that lazy journos throw at them. Pretty sure the passing of time will only serve to see their reputation grow. They have an embarrassment of riches when you put them head to head with pretty much all of their contemporaries.
Agree with this. Hugely underrated band. The run of five albums from Up To Our Hips in 1994 to Wonderland in 2001 is fantastic. My favourite is also the self-titled album from 1995. So many great songs on it and the production is very 'live' and works really well
