Wasn't there meant to be a new album out this year? I wonder what's brought this on.
Considering what a key element his voice was for the band, this is quite a radical change. Somewhat worried about the new album now.
but I'm not sure if that would be a bad thing or not.
His voice brought me to Midlake. Check the link above for the new album details. I've got tickets to see them in Galway and Limerick in 2 weeks time, a bit gutted to be honest.
hope this means he's making a new Cardiacs record
didn't, really. but what a thought
I'd care more if their last album didn't insist on being such an unrelenting borefest. Lost a huge amount of interest in the band as a result, but The Trials of Van Occupanther will always have a special place in my heart at least.
that reveals itself very slowly. I thought it was awful for months then just one day, it clicked and now I can't really live without it. Listen to it at least once a month.
they really kept this one quiet didn't they! To think he left 2 months after that EOTR show last year. Fuck sake, his voice, gentle songwriting and flute solo's were the best thing! I fucking love that flute on Rules, Ruling all Things.
I've been so excited for this album. God damn it.
i like that Jason Lytle is mates with the bass player from Pearl Jam. Anyway, seems like it might be in good hands. Tim left to follow his study of birds...
Not necessarily a bad thing, mind you.
Those opening chords of Acts of Man were enough to put me the mood. Fuck you Tim Smith you brilliant dickhead.
That's Sunday RUINED.
without telling anyone that their lead singer left 9 months ago?
Mind you, I saw the Eric Pulido solo thing (with the other Eric) and he's a damn fine vocalist. Could be a great thing cunningly disguised as a bag of shite.
wonderful then I guess.
