Blur's self-titled is pretty good. Best? Not sure.
Is definitely better than the S/T.
Come on man...every song on there is a belter. S/T is great but it does drag and eventually it becomes too many riffs (which is still fantastic, admittedly).
The Octopus is very good but S/T tops it for me.
Queens of the Stone Age
Amongst their best, anyway.
Aphex Twin (I'm going to count Richard D. James Album, because fuck you)
City of Caterpillar
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart
The Velvet Underground
white light is clearly their best
not sure if it can count
but you could do one for which bands self-titled is their worst.
Interpol gets my vote.
I completely agree. I never imagined they could ever make something that shit.
A mile thats as long as a country.
*pieces_of_reece this'd this
Lemon Jelly (lemonjelly.ky... does that count?!)
Flight of the Conchords
(god i hate myself)
but it is The Stone Roses. Cheers.
(meaning the third album with Pale Blue Eyes on)
Their best is clearly the one with Stephanie Says on it.
why that's their self-titled.
The first one, obv.
Most bands first album is their best?
Gets my goat and I don't know why.
It's usually fitting to call the first album after the band? I agree with you totally when, say, a band self title their 5th album or something...
Just about acceptable for a debut, silly for a later album.
GIVE IT A FUCKING NAME PLS.
if they didn't have enough imagination to come up with a title for it, then it doesn't bode well for the music
especially in the case of The Bronx who are 4 albums down the line, all self-titled.
Franz Ferdinand were gonna do the same thing, but bottled it. Lovely idea.
a la Led Zeppelin. All their covers were going be different colour schemes of the debut too. I was, at the time, looking forward to that idea becoming a reality.
The first one, specifically...
m b v right now.
definitely not interpol.
By some way too.
I suppose it's their only proper album, but it's a good one.
COME AT ME ETHRICDOUBLE
Either of them...
and if anyone disagrees, I'll see you out in the car park. Bring your keyboards, saxaphone and copy of London Calling, I'll bring my switchblade and attitude.
