Does anyone want a ticket for this? Because I have a spare.
(apologies for the thread hijack - take the OP ticket first if its available)
but I've got 6 tickets, none spare, and really looking forward to this!
Sounds like they're doing Celebration Rock in full, and almost all of Post-Nothing. Haven't been to Dingwalls for years now, remember it being great apart from the absurdly small area front of stage.
...the venue has some for sale on the door.
Very much looking forward to this. Haven't been to Dingwalls in ages.
don't know if I'll be able to get there until a bit later though
Can meet nearby at any time.
Wasn't expecting much but got dragged to one of their gigs a few months back and they are good
sort of goth surf-rock. Alarmingly young though!
Therefore I've caught them a number of time already this year & they are a decent British attempt at a garage/psych type sound. Check out "Beehive Queen" or "Digsaw" on yootoob.
I think it's fair to say that if you have a liking for Japandroids, then it's pretty likely that you'll dig at least some of it.
i'll be sure to get there earlyish!
£20 for the pair if anyone's interested?
Just in case anyone would still want it, because I don't live in London and thought it was on thursday for some reason, so don't have time to post it.
I did see them in Leeds on Sunday and they were really really great.
As my mate is currently in A&E :(
Anyone fancy it? Open to any offers!
Wedged it between wooden slats just outside the venue in the end, and was gone when we left, so hopefully someone got some use out of it!
Due to very similar reasons to the above post. But honestly, it's a different ticket.
Face value, can exchange at venue. Let me know.
Couldn't find anything on Twitter.
Hanging around in Camdump because my mates coming up from London Bridge and its closed.
Shame nobody got up on stage when they invited people though. Got a broken drumstick off david.
trains down south are fucked. stood at balham and annoyed.
90 minute set, although I left a bit early.
Great gig. Was expecting them to be much louder though.
Despite this ridiculously tall guy at the front right taking loads of pictures on his mobile and getting way OTT physically protective of his girlfriend from the people dancing whilst she just looked embarrassed.
David had a word with him to have some consideration for other people at one point.
was stood right next to him before Japandroids were on but moved to the other side
Could have possibly been the sound at the back sounding like it was going through a walkie talkie.
Then it got REAL good when I moved to the side. Brian does such a huge Springsteen impression nowadays. Seen them about six times now and never heard I Quit Girls before so that was great.
Missed so many chances to see them last year so this was really fantastic, especially in such a small venue and with these being their last UK shows for a while.
After an extended flirtation with hip-hop, this was finally the gig that got my to pick up my guitar again as soon as I got home. You can tell how much touring they've done, their playing is so tight without the set seeming contrived (broken strings, false starts all part of the fun!)
Thought they might play Darkness on the Edge of Gastown when he was talking about the fan request! Never mind, I Quit Girls was great too, as were so many of the Post-Nothing tracks. Wish the production was cleaner on that album, but they were easily the equal of the Celebration Rock tracks tonight. Having said that, Younger Us was a clear highlight for me.
Glad to hear everyone else enjoyed it! Sound seemed pretty good at the front for the most part.
really love dingwalls but i hadnt been there in a couple of years.
the wytches had improved a lot since i saw them supporting death grips. japandroids just killed it, wouldve loved to have heard i quit girls but cant really complain about the set. guitar sounded a lot cleaner than before although i was right in front of brian. really wonderful band, its a shame theyre probably not gonna be back in europe for a couple years at least.§§
