bump so i remember to listen to this after Luther
one day the pet shop boys were going to write a song called 'love is a bourgeois construct'
Its rather brilliant. It the album daft punk should have made.
listened to this twice in a row last night. i love it
It's a very good album (though at first, I wasn't as taken with it and found the tracks overly long). Certainly one of my favourite dance as of the year now, however.
Not as good as IDIB' 'After Dark 2' (though nothing's ever is as good as Mr Jewels these days, IMHO - even the legends that are TPSB), nor is it as enjoyable as 'The Universe Made of Darkness' by Tesla Boy (which criminally fell under the radar in the British press).
Will be listening to this a lot over the summer though. Nice to see 'em leaving the youngsters in a cloud of dust.
Flourescent is quality - sounds like an updated ravey version of Fade to Grey by Visage.
The electronic old guard are more than hanging in there judging by the albums in the last year or so by Orbital, Autechre, OMD and now Pet Shop Boys.
