Cut-Out Witch by Guided By Voices. Proper rubbish. Great band though.
aw, I like it. Even the monologue at the end.
I am an office worker.
sebadoh without him were rubbish
...I came here to post that.
the one with the line about snot off Forever Changes.
any of those songs on Beatles' albums where they let Paul McCartney get whimsical (Maxwell's Silver Hammer, When I'm 64 etc)
like finding a turd inside a birthday cake.
Climbing Up The Walls gives me a migraine too.
*walks slowly and carefully away from lit firework*
you know, around the hood, freewheeling.
maybe you haven't listened to it on your bike. going to pre-acknowledge this and forgive you.
Even though I've definitely heard it enough times for a lifetime
they're overplayed and a bit naff but if you hear them in the right mood or out of the blue they can be fun/sad. I never got the hatred towards them. by comparison, Stand' is pretty inane. and I like KRS-One but his turn on 'Radio Song' is cringeworthy.
is shittier than anything on This is My Truth. but you have a point. it's when the rot set in.
Done to your hair
Done To Your Hair
DONE TO YOUR HAIR.....
You're right, it's pretty fucking awful.
but it was written about Gail Porter.
there are a few songs I like on This is My Truth (Be Natural, Nobody Loved You, You're Tender & You're Tired) despite how limp it sounds. I think the lyrics over the whole album are fucking atrocious though, he's a really shit lyricist Nicky Wire.
When he's on form he's great but when he misses, fucking hell does it clunk. He severely misses Richey giving him constructive feedback, unfettered he gets away with some atrocities.
probably too harsh on him, he does need someone to have a word from time to time. curious what lines were his pre-Holy Bible. Richey's lyrics on that are something else.
Jane's Addiction - Standing in the Shower, thinking...
Echo & the Bunnymen - With a Hip (awful fucking lyrics)
Spacemen 3 - Big City (interminable cheese)
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Commercial
it's way overly long with cheesy lyrics.
Its part of the charm.
but Big City certainly doesn't warrant it's 11 minute running time.
truth be told, I'm not too keen on Kember's portion of Recurring outside of "Why Couldn't I See?"; a lot of it feels like it was written and recorded very quickly.
Didn't Kember spend ages recording and re-recording his side countless times or something?
great song title, great guitar solo
it's such a painful song, though it's awfulness makes me like wowee zowee even more. also belle and sebastian beyond the sunrise.
as well as pretty much all of Stevie Jackson's tunes for B&S.
i like seymour stein and chickfactor too but his tracks have got progressively worse with each album.
"love is an astronaut, it comes back but it's never the same" remains one of the best lyrics ever
"Just 'cause I'm shallow doesn't mean that I'm heartless / Just 'cause I'm heartless doesn't mean that I'm mean"
That song is a grower if I ever fucking heard one.
A member of the Scissor Sisters appearing on a New Order album? That's like Titus Bramble signing for Barcelona.
