Or whichever way you wish to say what you listened to in the first 6 months of 2013.....but there's already a thread for that. This is for hard stats only.
Here's my first half of the year.
01. How to Dress Well - 531
02. Ty Segall - 475
03. Thee Oh Sees - 442
04. Foals - 433
05. DIIV - 372
06. Wild Nothing - 351
07. Deerhunter - 337
08. Mogwai - 293
09. Luxury Elite - 290
10. Eluvium - 285
Mostly best-ofs from 2012 that still get played a lot. How to Dress Well is/was easily the greatest album of last year. Preturnaturally great.
Thee Oh Sees are my top band overall, so makes sense they're there. New album is killer.
Foals would be my #1 album of this year if it wasn't for Fell Voices (which at only 3 15 minute tracks comes in at number 37 with 136 plays).
I like the new Wild Nothing ep. Not Wildyly (:D) different, just enough to add more colour to his palette.
Seeing Deerhunter for the first time in October. MONO MONO MANIA! MONO MONO MANIA! MONO MONO MANIA!!!! BRRM BRRM.
Most of those Mogwai plays are from Hardcore Will Never Die, some Revenants, but mostly Hardcore.
Luxury Elite is great. He keeps putting up new tracks all the time - even his finished stuff sounds liek half-finished ideas for songs, little vignettes. But what ideas they are. I made a thread about it in which none of you heathens replied: http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4427309
New Eluvium is good. Long though.
2013 is the year of the double album, there's lots of them about
OK. now U go.
