but am i playing glasto?
and why does nle rodgers get a seperate mention
and material Nile Rodgers wrote/produced for other artists.
I mean they've been the media's darlings for some time now.
not surprised you need to be told that, though.
altho nile seems to have written ALL the songs...i was half expecting them to kick into living in a box...
They were a decent pop group who made a mint out of 70s disco. Annoys me when groups like them are feted with some sort of 'importance' that they really didn't possess.
Honestly, go and listen to C'est Chic, have a little think, then come back and have another go
Next thing, you'll be telling me that Abba were good too
Has an issue with Abba?
If Nile Rogers passes away, I might be inclined to forget his production on Let's Dance is the demarcation line between god-like Bowie and mortal Bowie. I might say something nice in the RIP thread.
Like Donna Summer, a Chic song might come on if I've got iTunes set to random, but I would never think to put on a Chic record otherwise. And let's hope Nile has moved on from the beaded-cornrow hair-do.
Let's Dance is excellent
I mean, they seem to have gained a popularity in the last couple of years (even before Get Lucky) that I just don't remember them having in my previous 25 years.
Chic have a few properly enduring hits and Nile Rogers has been involved with a colossal amount of popular stuff, but do people really know that much beyond Good Times, Freak Out and a few others?
C'est Chic and Risqué in particular.
Who'd have believed it.
Thing on Glastonbury quite frankly!
