TBH I would choose this over a set of songs from The Invisible Way any day.
i'd love to see them play this live, but yeah its very weird. they normally even do requests.
Would have loved to have seen this, but mainly because it's one of the few songs of theirs (new album aside) I've not seen live
and its a festival set not a headline one so yeah, pretty good.
rock fans in 'entitled cunts' shocker
i'd been at this. looking forward to listening to the 30 minute song later.
low are great anyway but this is a choice move and i can't understand the negative reactions to it.
if neil young had chosen to play 'hurricane' for an hour last night i would have been happy, when swans play their seemingly infinite version of the seer it just resonates all the more deeply.
drone and repetition are beautiful effective tools - why shouldn't low use them?
they probably should've played it for an hour.
but given the context this makes perfect sense.
is fine, pretty standard behaviour. Just so long as you understand your disappointment doesn't really mean anything to anyone else.
sounds like one of those things where it sounds good to read about but if you were there you would be like nrrggghhh
just listened, was stunning
Given the choice between a set like this or a brief run-through of 3 or 4 off the new album (which I really like) I know what I'd choose.
Would've been better if it was Nothing but Heart, but you can't have everything.
Alan, I salute you!
someone put up a link (i don't have it). Would love to have been there for that
presumably they only had 30 minute set anyway it's rad
If its anything like the last Retribution Gospel Choir record, it will be phenomenal.
It sounds like This Will Destroy You...to my ears totally awe-inspiring.
Two colleagues genuinely asked me if I could hear an out-of-order toilet gushing somewhere while I was playing it mind! It was awkward explaining that it was music...
why am i never there when stuff like this happens? if my favourite band came out and played a set i wasn't at all expecting and completely out of left field i'd be fuckin chuffed.
they were just philistines.
and either you'd travelled a long way to go to a festival or they'd come to a festival in your shitheap town and there was no chance of them coming back for a headline show ever.
but, you know, this isn't really that case and Alan is known for being a bit temperamental so...
I WANT TO HEAR NOTHING WEIRD OR UNEXPECTED JUST CHOONS K
Love that song.
it was good
"yeah, but I don't wanna do THAT again anytime soon, OK?"
