but I'm guessing it's that performance of Bizarre Love Triangle
Haven't touched them since.
Saw the Pixies reformation gigs at Brixton too and they did nothing for me at all.
I think both comebacks were entirely well received at the time and gave a lot of people the opportunity to see bands they couldn't have before, but that they should both probably fuck off now. Especially Peter Hook.
it's always going to be New Order.
because she just did. Again(?)
you're your own master when it comes to what exposure you have to certain bands. I like quite a few New Order singles, and one or two LPs, so stick to those. Live, i find them a bit cheesy, bouncing round in their white pumps, it's about as dad rock as it gets, but why let elements of a band's output you're not fond of, or what they otherwise say or do spoil your impression of them as a whole?
Similar with the Pixies, they released four albums a long time ago, all of which have their highlights. Beyond that, well, it's of no interest to me at all. They disbanded in 1993, what they chose to do with the next twenty years of their lives is of no consequence to me whatsoever.
I realise you probably weren't looking for an actual answer here.
I'm a fan of Pixies but not a huge one. I saw two of their Brixton shows in 2004 and one at The Troxy a couple of years ago. Brixton was average for me but really enjoyed The Troxy gig. They can be a strong live band and have quite a few songs to have produced more than one Best Of.
