That the quiet-loud-quiet grunge thing (think Smells Like Teen Spirit) was heavily influenced by Buddy Holly's playing. Something to do with switching between different pickups on his guitar to get a muffled sound then a clear loud one.
Weezer's first album came out a month after Kurt Cobain died, so this simply can't be true.
It was only natural that grunge would follow.
So it could be Mick Hucknall who perfected it?
