Fucking hell what a bunch of twats
to play none of it?
But we all know they'll just show Chase & Status : (
this isn't really a surprise, their perspective is very much "if we can't make £££ from it, why do it?"
Consider why, after 16 years, we still don't have a DVD showing the '97 Radiohead performance in full? They were certainly recording it.
because he got swindled out of a load of cash by his accountant or someone and he needed to make some money?
I'm fairly sure the Rolling Stones aren't in the same financial situation.
So yeah, that's why they're twats and Leonard Cohen isn't.
I would have presumed this would have been a contractual obligation that would be agreed at the time of signing up?
I wouldn't worry.
*This only applies to latter day Stones as obviously they used to be great.
off to pirate bay to download their back catalogue now.
20 minutes of the Stones is fine. It's the endless Vaccines sets that will make you pray for the sweet release of death.
It obviously isn't the same experience, but how would you feel if you spent the money to see the Stones, and some shithead was at home on his couch catching the whole thing for free?
That's just one argument, though
It's such a completely different experience. Live music on the TV pretty much never captures the thrill of being there.
... cos then I have to say I'm pretty thrilled about being at home.
I've been to a whole lot of rainy, muddy Glastonburys and I wouldn't have swapped a single one of them for a dry living room.
Agreed that their set wouldn't be shown in full? The Stones are certainly not the exception.
important only for their wealth & their independence. makes you wonder how bad beatles would be if they were still intact.
Same thing happened with Springsteen in 2009, you'll only be able to find five or six songs online. Then he released a full DVD of Hard Rock Calling from the same weekend.
they had to keep cutting away so they didnt show the full set
more and more common... rage against the machine refused broadcast of T in the Park show; Stone Roses wouldn't let telly show V Fest/T in the Park.
