I have heard nothing...where to begin?
'Dub Housing' and 'The Modern Dance'.
I don't know anything beyond those two.
nothing I've heard is as good as the first two albums
oh and terminal tower, that's pretty essential
Which has the first 4 records and all the b-sides. It's great and less than an tenner on Amazon. Get that.
If you don't like those, then you're not ready for Pere Ubu. The Art of Walking has some good stuff too, but from then on they go downhill pretty badly.
And if anybody ever tries to get you to listen to David Thomas & The Pedestrians, punch them to the ground and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.
Mayo Thompson became a member of Pere Ubu on the Art of Walking and all of them I think appear on Soldier Talk
the first 2 albums are great as well
as the first two albums, but the mid-period 'poppy' Ubu of Worlds in Collision is fun too.
I've never managed to get into the other records.
it's absolutely brilliant. once you get your noggin around it.
modern dance next and then go forwards.
david thomas would approve of this order. had the pleasure of putting on a spoken word set and a gig recently and he was the best!
