i have two tracks on 120 plays. you should listen to them both as they are quite special;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iLKkxi4epo (awful video mind)
now you go
1 The Hold Steady – Your Little Hoodrat Friend 110
2 The Hold Steady – Cattle and the Creeping Things 103
3 The Hold Steady – Stevie Nix 101
i mostly listen to full albums and i have a tendency to play Separation Sunday over and over when I'm drunk
Separation Sunday is one of my top all time albums.
It's been top since 2006
Sparklehorse - Piano Fire (feat. PJ Harvey)
Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter
The former's there 'cause it's definitely my favourite song ever and the latter as it always closes the bootlegs and live recs of PJ gigs.
That's probably because it's the first song on 'Parting The Sea...' the whole album is only ~20 mins long. 10 of the 13 songs from it are in my top 15 most played on last.fm.
2 Phoenix - Bourgeois
3 Solange - Losing You
but that's only because they've fused all the interludes from Nighthawks into one track.
My #1 actual song is Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
easily done with a song so short but even so I've listened to it 133 times which is a hell of a lot.
if you take track length ive listened to Wilco's 'I Am Trying To Break Your Heart' 90 times which adds up to way more listening time
sorry for geeking out
the second track i listed is nearly 3 times longer than the first
Appareny 70 plays. Though my iTunes says I'm on 92, and Another Radio Song is on 103!
Hood - Untitled
which shouldn't really count, cause I'm guessing that's a scrobbling of all those really short untitled vignette things from The Cycle of Days and Seasons... soooo... I guess the real most played would be what's listed as second, which is...
The Bats - Block of Wood
Didn't expect that so much, only listened to it on Spotify. Don't own it or nothing. Bloody nice song, though.
Take my shoes off and throoowwww them in the lake.
49 plays since 2007.
Nine and a half minutes of wonder.
As an unfortunate bugged multiple scrobbling incident I never rectified skewed my track counts and as I have a tendency to listen to my three or four most recent favourite albums on repeat. I also went through periods of not scrobbling during being obsessed with certain albums meaning they are underrepresented.
Looking at the most likely candidate for the real victor it's probably Waltz #2 (XO) by Elliot Smith - with 42 plays over the last 7 years.
Taking the last 12 months alone, which has reasonably accurate values, Uffington Wassail by Half Man Half Biscuit has the most plays at 22. Which is appropriate considering the "let's do the bongo laced 22'nd album" line!
The best song ever of course, Now You Are Pregnant by The Wave Pictures
only 58 listens, though.
I listen to this, I am seventeen again (as if I ever became a proper adult).
repeatrinsing songs...not so much.
I've never really looked at my top tracks, really strange bunch. Top is Heavy Pop by Wu Lyf with 79 plays since May 2010. I think a lot of my top tracks are from a couple of summers ago when I was using my sister's iPod Nano as I'd lost my iPod and everything was just getting endlessly repeated.
If I look at my old last.fm account and my current one then Gold Soundz by Pavement is the leader by quite some distance with 126 plays. That's about right, it's my favourite song. That'd be since 2009.
2. Aphex Twin - Xtal (225)
3. Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong (181)
This is only since 2011 though. Not sure it would be much different a few years earlier mind.
like some other people, I always listen to albums, so the top track is one from my top album. although not my top artist actually which I wasn't expecting.
This is the best track off one of the best albums in years.
as there have been many scrobbling cock-ups over the years and it has never successfully or consistantly scrobbled my iPod plays.
But right now, my top song is Sparklehorse - Maria's Little Elbows, at 32 plays.
Which, considering that's my favourite song of all time and I've been using Last.fm since 2005 suggests how screwed up my scrobbling has been. That said, there's at least a year or so without any Sparklehorse plays at all; I couldn't bring myself to listen to any for a long time after Mark Linkous died.
As I programmed my ipod to play this to me as an alarm call for years.
Since 2005. This is only mp3s, didn't count listening on the move until I got a smartphone a year ago and nothing in the car or vinyl obviously. It would be really interesting if you could find out what your most listened to song is ever, as in since you were 11 or something. There are probably teenagers now who have only ever had mp3s and scrobbled since they were able to pick what to listen to, the lucky swines.
But the top three are (after many, many resets):
1 Los Campesinos! – Hello Sadness 38
2 Los Campesinos! – To Tundra 36
3 Los Campesinos! – Baby I Got The Death Rattle 35
More "accurate" is probably my last three months, which are:
1 Hookworms – Form And Function 17
2 James Blake – Retrograde 16
3 Hookworms – What We Talk About 15
Though I couldn't actually tell you the melody to the James Blake track...
Something over 100 plays. Which doesn't seem right, I think there might be some tagging issues there (or I left it playing on repeat or something).
Second is Mountain Goats - This Year and then a couple of National tracks.
Mine's Come All Ye by the Fairport Convention. Not entirely sure why but it's a pretty funny song so I'm happy with that
180 plays it says. Quite conceivable, surprised it's not a Saint Etienne track at the top though, although my 4th most played is Action, 5th is Split Screen and 11th is Lose That Girl.
and Animal Collective - Graze are tied on 67, Deerhunter's Revival follows with a close 62.
It was Mackey Gets Results by Stealthy, but I think it's The New Black by Every Time I Die now.
I think for the entire summer of 2006 I played this like 17 times to help me go to sleep every night
and now it's forever at the top
2. Emiliana Torrini - Today Has Been Ok - 139 plays
3. Coldplay - Don't Panic - 135 plays
Those are all from way back when though, the second two are entirely down to my obsession with Sugar Rush when it was on, top soundtrack :'D
Most recent high scorer is probably Carte Postale by George Pringle (93 plays) or Tractor Rape Chain by Guided By Voices (115 plays)
with 260 plays
The rest of my top 10 is also mainly all Alligator songs
Hot Rock - Sleater Kinney (22 plays)
