I'll get to see them more than the 7 times I'm already seeing them this year. On the last couple of tours they did Leeds and they did Brighton in 2009 and 2010 (may be a bit close to Camber Sands for this year though). I'd like to see Glasgow and Liverpool dates as well as London.
it's Microcastle they're done with... I guess the noise and roughness of Cryptograms' more raucous bits sit pretty well with Monomania.
I think Cox's problems with TIUF are pretty long lasting and deep rooted, I certainly don't think he's got a problem with Microcastle etc. And this is all based on a handful of shows with pretty short setlists.
I know one date isn't the whole tour but they'd already sold Brighton out, which was quite a feat considering half of Brighton saw them 3 times at ATP only 3 months ago.
Second Concorde 2 gig (Modest Mouse) cancelled this year, both cases where I feel it's unlikely I'll have the opportunity to see them in such a small venue.
However, I hope the band and family are all ok and hope it's positive family news like their wives are preggers or something. Still, I've seen them at ATP and Primavera this year so can't complain.
Please come to Newcastle. Please come to Newcastle.
*crosses everything*
Fantastic

Would love to see a glasgow date
never saw them before, more and more gig lists im seeing without glasgow included *shakes fist*
The played Oran Mor in 2011
*They
Cardiff would be nice
But I'm not holding my breath on that one
They're definitely coming to Ireland in October too.
There's at least one date in Dublin, more to follow.
recent setlists:
no Microcastle material
one/two songs apiece from Cryptograms / Halcyon
7-8 from Monomania
D :
Go to ATP then
Microcastle in full
Cryptograms in full
HD in full
:D
I hope newJosh can drive NEH and Octet like oldJosh
wish I had the moolah
:C
This would be amazing
If they can rustle up any spare 2-berths I might go to that ATP - plus it's in June, so best chance of decent weather ever.
Get the feeling they'll be started to distance themselves from Cryptograms stuff now
as they did with TIUF
:(
I do like Monomania, but wouldn't mind them mixing it up *if* they come to London...
from those recent setlists it look FAIRLY pro-Cryptograms
it's Microcastle they're done with... I guess the noise and roughness of Cryptograms' more raucous bits sit pretty well with Monomania.

Isn't the reason they don't play any TIUF because it's
unlistenable garbage?
Well, makes sense I guess
bands usually focus on the newest record.
(and as pointed out downthread, that's a short set altogether)
if they're not gonna play a long noise jam out of Nothing Ever Happened I'm not sure I want to go and see them
European tour has been cancelled.
"Family reasons"
Checked Songkick... UK dates aren't down as being cancelled...
They are cancelled
shame
really enjoyed them at ATP and was looking forward to seeing them again

OH FUCKING TITS
Hope their families are okay.
^This
to both points :(
damn
I am having a rubbish week this week, might as well add no Deerhunter to the list.
to the people
who are suggesting its due to the poor ticket sales and ATP owing certain parties, this is completely UNTRUE
could have probably kept this alias on the backburner
and deployed it at a more opportune moment tbh
Gutted
Tour cancelled
I heard it's because of poor ticket sales and, well, we know that qwimwal are in a fair amount of debt, I wouldn't be suprised if they pulled it.
yes te
fucking website.
yes, the promoter of one show definitely has the power to cancel a band's whole european tour. well done.
Internets
Really??
I know one date isn't the whole tour but they'd already sold Brighton out, which was quite a feat considering half of Brighton saw them 3 times at ATP only 3 months ago.
oh man
I actually had tickets for this, that said I hope it's not too serious for the band members affected.
Damn damn damn
Second Concorde 2 gig (Modest Mouse) cancelled this year, both cases where I feel it's unlikely I'll have the opportunity to see them in such a small venue.
Hope all is well with B. Cox and co. though.
given the last 2 times they've played the concorde2
I'd say there's a good shout they'll play there again.
How things change......
"I feel it's unlikely I'll have the opportunity to see them in such a small venue."
The Concorde has been 2/3rds full for their last 2 shows in Brighton and I'm being charitable there.
Sad about this - I was planning on hitting up most of the UK shows
However, I hope the band and family are all ok and hope it's positive family news like their wives are preggers or something. Still, I've seen them at ATP and Primavera this year so can't complain.
