Forgot how great they were/are.
I'm not a huge fan but would have loved to have seen those songs live. I saw them about six or seven years ago at The ICA and thought they were average and so chose not to go to The Scala gig.
did 2 encores too.
Stuff I didn't recognise sounded good too
worth the ticket price alone.
Messed up Shine On (sang the chorus after the first verse instead of verse-verse-chorus). Which was quite funny seeing as he introduced it by saying they'd been rehearsing it.
Also played: Hope, Road, Love in a Car (awesome), Phone, Crush Me, Touch Me, She Paints Words in Red (first time I'd heard it; decent tune), Beatles and the Stones, Don't Know Why I Love You. One other old one that I recognised but forget the name of.
Looking at other setlists they probably played two or three of: A Baby Got Back on Its Feet, Hemingway, PKR, Lost in the Blues, Low Black Clouds.
Had big sound problems at the start, and for most of the set I thought the vocals weren't good. The last few songs (Shine One, Christine, Destroy the Heart, Phone) were good though.
tripping over his amp and knocking it over
read good things and i'm waiting for it to arrive in the post
and only the drummer had gone bald.
