Oooo! Tickets on sale tomorrow morning:
Any other dates say a bit further west?
Come on Bristol (it's not Bristol is it?)
Like all that twee stuff. Silly.
think about it
But the two supports are excellent. I will be attending this event.
One of the most exciting live bands around at the moment.
but their gigs generally cost £5
Even if they announce dates in France, the support bill would make it worth it...
We're putting on a gig at the Windmill on the 13th...
Any chance you'll upgrade the venue like with Modest Mouse?
when I get paid!
Is it a deliberate move to make people double-take at the name??
if there's any more going on sale / another date added / moved to a bigger venue, can someone pm me please?
They're shit. Which belm decided to book a really dull and meandering psychedelic rock band to support a furious punk/noise rock act?
i put it to you that you don't know what meandering is.
how do i not know this/why would it be earlier? weird wurld
Electric Ballroom shows have an earlier curfew, usually because they have a club night on afterwards.
I'll be annoyed if this means that the first band start at something stupid like 7.00pm.
it was also on a friday night. doors were 6pm, Asobi were on at 6:15pm, played to about twenty people.
I got caught in the office late on a Friday once and ended up missing half of Dillinger Escape Plan when they played their a few years ago as well.
They have an earlier curfew on Fridays at the Electric Ballroom, so that's why it's a 6:30pm doors opening, first band @ 7pm, Pissed Jeans on around 9pm, curfew 10:15pm
Anyone got a ticket link? Or are the links that are currently sold out going to become un-sold out?
Songkick. I haven't received an email telling me that my ticket is still valid etc. I did from them when the Modest Mouse Koko gig was moved to The Roundhouse. Even when you go on Songkick tickets the venue is still The Dingwalls. Maybe they'll be more tomorrow (or rather later today looking at the time). I'm glad it's at The Electric Ballroom now. I hate Dingwalls. Such a crap venue with moody and rubbish bar staff.
Thank goodness for upgrades.
but hate the ballroom. Dilemma.
been a few times recently and really liked it
which was (fuck) 3 years ago. Have they changed it, then?
but been to WHY?, Deathgrips and Desapercediidiiedos there in the last year, and each time has been great. nice big room, decent sound and visibility, slightly shit bar, but solid venue.
oh wait, yeah i went before - the layout's been changed. it's well good.
If you get to the venue early enough to stand front left, in front of the sound desk, it's great. The sound has improved a lot recently too.
It's deceptively big, and the new layout is way better
I'm now sorted with a ticket.
Is it just a Friday with an early curfew? The early finish makes travelling back to the the other side of the M25 much easier. I'm sorely tempted to see Titus Andronicus and Fucked Up play on a Thursday at the end of May, but if it's a 11pm+ finish it makes it far less possible.
all the bands finish at 10pm. For all other weekdays it's an 11pm finish.
Getting the bus up on the Friday and back after the gig, £18.
I now have a spare pair of tix for this if anyone is looking to buy
how much for the pair?
I've just rechecked the email and of came to £28.60- will that be satisfactory?
Stage times were announced a couple of weeks ago, for anyone that missed them:
6.30pm - Doors
7.15pm-7.45pm - Sauna Youth
8.00pm-8.40pm - Hookworms
9.00pm-10.00pm - Pissed Jeans
10.00pm - Curfew
There's a few of us going.
I want to see Sauna Youth, so it'll have to be early though.
I can dig that.
then the last bus out of London at 11.30 back home, all made possible by the goth club night taking place after the gig. Thank you goths of London.
Would be appreciated, didn't realised I'd be in London at this time.
I have 2 to sell. Face value, etickets.
anyone fancies joining us.
Were far better than I thought they would be.
My mates have gone to the gig but I've chosen to watch the tennis. I hope I've made the right decision.
Instead of going to see a band who basically never tour the EU, even though you had a ticket? Honestly buddy, fuck you. I wish I could have gone to see Pissed Jeans
I caught about two and a half songs of Pissed Jeans. A good mix of sport and music during a lovely sunny day.
i feel terrible today, worth it
Genuinely couldn't tell what songs were being played. Broke a pet hate and sort of pushed forward to the sound desk where it was ok, then when the surge towards the mosh pit started I got swept along and the sound down there was BRILLIANT. Felt like it was over before it began!
a minor threat cover? the sound kinda sucked and i couldn't make it out, and i was drunk and it's annoyed me not knowing ever since
great gig though
Thought Half Idiot was last. Or maybe second to last.
may have been territorial pissings, it had a big drum roll at the start
off of the latest album, wasn't it?
shows that i don't know the new album that well and the sound sucked.
and something else i cant put my finger on
was SO bad the gig was ruined for me. You shouldn't have to be in the first 10 rows or whatever to be able to enjoy it. I did try moving about a bit but it never really got any better.
they were superb in leeds on Thursday.
but I suspect that was due in part to me standing off to one side to avoid the absolute carnage that was happening in front of the stage.
Sauna Youth were pretty good too, and Hookworms were nothing short of brilliant.
but was disappointed by pissed jeans.
no opinion on the tennis.
full of weedy young indie boys and girls ... I've never seen so many failed attempts at crowd surfing
