I love Fay Hield and Jackie Oates. Who else is really good at the uncool end of the spectrum?
Both of their albums are wonderful. I wish they'd hurry up and make another.
Alasdair Roberts has done two albums of traditional material but Spoils is his best. I genuinely think he is a genius.
The Unthanks, obviously.
I could wank on forever about AR. Farewell Sorrow's my favourite but every album adds to his majesty in its own way.
Got any other favourites? I suppose what I was thinking was that I might never have discovered Jackie Oates unless I'd gone to see her at a folk club on spec, seeing as she doesn't really have any crossover indie buzz so the usual portals I pay attention to mainly ignore her...
Check out the song Hollow Point.
O'hooley and Tidow. One of them was in the Winterset and tours with Jackie Oates.
What about Lau? They are incredible and probably should have more crossover indie buzz.

Also on the more Celtic side of things, the new record by Kris Drever (of Lau) and Eamonn Coyne is fantastic.
Also almost certainly not what this thread is looking for but it's the closest I'll get to an excuse to mention The Demon Barbers here.
Keep them coming.
