Headlining hop farm this year. With horrors underneath
...with them getting the sound right on a massive outdoor stage.
and so the Hop Farm festival will be having its last year.
They still owe £4.8million from last year http://www.musicweek.com/news/read/hop-farm-owner-owed-4-8m-when-it-went-into-administration/053833
(they still owe DiS £1000 from 2 years ago)
Not quite sure how any festival can operate like this.
If it goes ahead slightly tempted. I'm doing nowt that weekend. I love burning money I don't have. What's not to like?
Slightly astonished to see so many names I haven't heard of. I know I'm a bit out of touch with 'indie' these days but who the hell are half these bands? I'm not THAT out of touch surely. It's rare I don't recognise this many names even on small stages. Weird.
and always really, really liked it. saw neil young, patti smith x2. the line up has always been a bit patchy but i kind of like that, there's space between the handful of great performances to be able to wander about with your mates, i don't want to be running from stage to stage all the time at a festival (except atp).
apart from the music the site is nice, the bars are decent, there are enough toilets and they're clean, and it's easy and cheap to get to from london, and the music ends in time to get the last train.
i like a lot of the second stage bands this year too.
jack savoretti can fuck off, mind.
