Third Kings of Leon album is underrated
Increased the reverb knob and it sounds alright
The two after that - dogshit

I agree
On Call is their best song.
Good album
Second only to Aha Shake Heartbreak IMO.
Knocked Up and Black Thumbnail are probably my favourites off it now, I think in retrospect it forecasts the shit direction they were about to take, and some of it is pretty boring, but as a whole it stands up well.
Is it?
I thought it was considered the last good one
I know it's my fav and I have lots of fond memories with it
they were my favourite band in the world when that came out
don't be ridiculous
the first album was great (because most of it was written by the guy from the mavericks). everything else they ever released was utter tripe
Seriously?
The Mavericks lead singer wrote most of their debut album? I never knew that.
Incidentally, I've been listening to the new Mavericks album; the one released last month. I only knew them for 'Dance The Night Away', so this is my first real introduction to the band... it's surprisingly good!
haha

As this guy seems to have scooped up all of the available indie points going in this thread
we can probably all pack up and go home now
i get deja vu reading these boards sometimes
i always quite liked charmer
Underrated? More like the opposite...
Because of the Times was their breakthrough album. Reached number one in the charts here and brought them much commercial success. And it deserved that success, because it's a great album. Could've done with some trimming here and there, but it's Kings of Leon at their best.
Unfortunately, as we're all aware, it was all downhill from there. 'Use Somebody'... *shudders*
I know what you're getting at
But generally I find people who knock BOTT just generally dislike Kings of Leon. It is easily my favourite. When the following record came out I remember liking the first track but nothing else...for me thats when they shifted their sound for the worst.
4th one's okay actually think I'm just sick of the singles off it
Never heard the fifth one
Good example of the sort of band human beings don't listen to
after they've turned 16,
(when i turned 16) was when only by the night came out
i think that and the later one are the worst albums ever. because of the times is so wonderful. black thumbnail/ragoo/knocked up etc are all great. and CHARMER holy shit.
you can tell the registrations have been opened
Surely the first album is the classic
Last.fm tells me this
Kings of Leon, 165 plays, 25 of which are 'On Call' from that album. 35 different tracks, pretty much the first 3 albums. You're welcome.
There's really nothing much wrong with the first three albums
and about half of the fourth. Haven't heard the fifth.
didn't know there was a 5th album
I think it's their best album - haters gon hate!
Charmer, McFearless, Arizona, Knocked Up, True Love Way - all excellent!
I'd say On Call is probably the worst track on the album and it's still an absolute banger!
(I take that back actually, probably not the worst, but there's some great stuff on there.)
Knocked Up
is the best thing they've ever done.
Black Thumbnail
Shit track on great album. One of the few times I've purposefully deleted a track from a playlist in order that I can enjoy the rest.
That was the first song I really liked on that album wtf
Is this where I post to say
Soft on their second album is really good? Thanks.
