new album available to pre order now
if anything like the last two/ ep this is brilliant news
I loved. Where should I start to catch up?
as was the tourbles of the brain ep
any of them really
Can't wait. Been giving Nux Vomica a few re-listens lately and remembering just how fantastic it is.
weirdly overlooked band.
How is it possible?
not sure why this band hasn't caught on more. Nux Vomica was my album of the year in the year it was released. They are fantastic.
The band website and iTunes say 29 April in UK, but some stores have it down as 27 May. The stores who are saying 29 April (this coming Monday) haven't had any stock arrive. Wonder if DiS have had a review copy in yet, I know Sean is a fan.
I've for a review copy. I'll check the date for you in a bit.
through their website. And they are expensive. Strange what a low key release this is. One of my favorite bands. Popmatters gave this a bad review.
Maybe something to do with them releasing on their own label, previously they had the support of Rough Trade. You're right though, it's on Spotify and downloadable but the CD isn't available for another month - except it is via their website.
Listened through once, quite enjoyed it though it's missing something all the previous records had. They normally have a couple of piano ballads on each record, gives more variety and depth. Think it'll grow on me though.
At their best they're amazing but they never seem to have caught on in the way that a lot of far less good bands have done
played in st mary's church
it's a top ten of all time gig for me
playing in london in july
they need to do more dates
Really disappointed I did't get to see them at the Great Escape, but glad to hear they've still got it live. The last (and only) gig of theirs I saw was astonishingly good, but that was in late 2009 and I haven't been able to see them once since then, the gigs have been so few and far between. Typically double booked for that July gig as well, so if anyone's looking for a couple of tickets to that I've got some going spare...
