The Shadow Ring
what do you think about the 90s spoken word / discordant sound group The Shadow Ring?
I listened to them a bit a while back but then today I was walking around Morrison's in a mood listening to 'Put The Music In It's Coffin' and loving it. Perfectly nail the daily lives of trenchcoat wearers audibly.
This one is pretty topical http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjVZ8ygAXeY
Not something you want to listen to all the time though. Reminds me of, in this order, that Flaming Tunes re-issue everyone wet themselves over last year and the post-Henry Cow band Art Bears.

I only ever had Life Review
it's pretty great tho
might listen to it now
Siltbreeze was one of my favourite labels for a while and there was a point I was determined to get everything they'd released. didn't get very far at all, and never really managed to explore Shadow Ring properly either
Their initial releases
on the Dry Leaf label are definitely worth hunting down.
There's a record called The Rise of Elklink
by Elklink (including members of The Shadow Ring) which is super weird/good too.
yeah, these are on the list
the big stuff I should check out list, along with some other Siltbreeze stuff I read about on ILX recently.
can't enjoy music in supermarkets, though. crushingly mundane places make even the most easy to like music seem boring, let alone avant garde lofi noisey stuff.
what are the other things?
have a look
