Tracks/albums that sound great during certain weather/times of day
Early morning, Night, in the snow, summer, in the rain. You get the idea.
Ie. Dayvan Cowboy by Boards of Canada sounds ace in the early morning. Cocteau Twins sound great in the snow. On Melancholy Hill on a hot summers day- hoo boy!

Massive Attack - Mezzanine
I can honestly (perhaps sadly) say I have never listened to this album in anything other than total or near-total darkness. I think I would actually find it very weird listening to it in daylight.
Been thinking about this for a while, so this will be a long post
THE CURE - DISINTEGRATION
Need to listen when moving isn't an option, the best times are when going to bed on a friends sofa after a night out, or the morning after on the sofa when no one is up. the sound just totally wraps you up it's like being taken out of existence for 50 minutes.
THE SHINS - PORT OF MORROW
Summer morning, simply put. First thing when you get outside, works a treat.
BEST COAST - (any)
Long, lazy summer afternoons when sun is just starting to set, either outside or by a window, optional beer accessory.
PATTI SMITH - HORSES
A dark evening, where you can see the stars, (essential for Birdland), outside walking around somewhere.
PORTICO QUARTET - S/T
On a train.
YEAH YEAH YEAHS - MAPS
Afternoon of a busy day, and you're tired.
I like to listen to Disintegration
on the walk home when its dark enough to need street lights but not night-time dark just yet
and its really cool out but not raining or anything
Lee Perry - City Too Hot
Slow, throbbing reggae about a city that is, well, hot. Love playing this driving a car through a baking hot sunny day in summer, preferably through an area with a high West Indian population. Reggae in the sun is a touch obvious, but this has a gritty urban edge to it rather than playing on a beach.
Night time listenings:
Burial (obvs), The Soft Moon, Rusty Nails by Moderat (not really the rest of the record).
Early morning: that new record my Mountains (Centralia?), Yppah.
the beach boys smiley smile
on a hot summers night, dark outside windows open,
Return to Cookie Mountain in blistering heat
