February 2012 - release picks
What are you all looking forward to? What have you already picked up or streamed?
Can't wait to hear the Foals album. Really like the new Frightened Rabbit (not sure it will eclipse Midnight Organ Fight in my heart, but time will tell). Yet to hear m b v. Really like the sprawling weirdness of the new Darkstar - wasn't expecting this sort of record from them.
Started a Spotify playlist with a few things vaguely related to this month http://open.spotify.com/user/seaninsound/playlist/4YZ5MseNWVuvPW1XBfUEgs

top 5 for me
olafur arnalds
apparat
thomas cade
field rotation
serengeti
I've also been enjoying darkstar and there's a casiotone ftpa live album
Olafur Arnalds
and the new KVB album.
I think Olafur's album has gone back a week, so is now in March.
Helen Money
Darkstar & Hav Lyfe
Are the big ones for me. They're both ace.
every time i see the name darkstar in music
i think of keanu reeves
Is that one of his films?
Sounds like it could be haha or is it cos of Dog Star or whatever his band was called?
every so often it makes me think of Dark Star (note the space) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Star_(band)
For me so far
Frightened Rabbit, Grouper and Veronica Falls are enjoyable. Eels disappointing after a couple of listens. Was Unknown Mortal Orchestra this month? That's not bad.
Looking forward to Cave and Kozelek.
really liking the Grouper album. Only heard it for the first time yesterday but liked her previous stuff.
bugger.
going to be an expensive month.
Can't wait to listen to new Burial material
also the Grimes record seems like it will be something worth all the excitement. New Tindersticks as well!
New Burial out this month? I did not know this!
New Tindersticks? What? When? Wow
This would be funnier
with less random false rumours (though I did hear something about Grimes too)
read the thread title
Aha
you got me (and others) good.

Veronica Falls' album is album of the month for me.
The Nick Cave album is a stunner...
I've listened to it close on 20 times now and it's revealing more each time.
Jubilee Street is one of the Bad Seeds finest ever moments IMO.
I really like
the Ethan Johns album. Other than that it is standard stuff MBV, Frightened Rabbit and Eels.
Still to hear the Nick Cave LP
Most anticipated for me is Autre Ne Veut: out tomorrow!
So far in February I've enjoyed Foals, Girls Names, Pissed Jeans and Iceage.
