First bands announced tonight!!
thee oh sees, walkmen, pop group, alunageorge, blondes. Must admit to being a tad disappointed so far. doesn't really match up to last years fantastic billing. only want to see thee oh sees and metz so far - and seen both before. we still have faith though that better is to come. buying flights today!
my bloody valentine added to the line up, its shaping up nicely albeit slowly
can't make it this year though :(
the lineup is incredible. Such a good festival.
Does anyone who went last year have a hotel recommendation?
is wonderful. all the bands stop there. think its about £40 per night. worth it.
main hq of organisers and lots of bands there if you want to shmooze and have a game of simulated golf. 20 min walk to festival site. we got it for a bargain £22 a room. booked into Angelo this year, more like £60 a night. still not too excited by lineup.
bumped into Mazzy Star, DIV, Swans, Thurston Moore at the Angelo last year so presumed that was the main hotel. hmmmmm
the bigger bands go in angelo, but lots were in diamente last year e.g. pissed jeans, daughn gibson, twilight sad. unless something more appealing than smashing pumpkins is announced soon i am cancelling my angelo booking and just going to krakow for the week instead. compare to last years lineup - the stooges, pissed jeans, ty segall, thurston moore, house of love, daughn gibson, colin stetson, blixa, andy stott, demdike stare, iceage, wedding present, malkmus, chromatics, swans, mazzy star, doom..
We've booked our rooms there this year for a third time in a row.
It's £22 a night. But most important, it's a 5 minutes walk from the festival grounds, and a 2 minutes walk from a nice lake, where we always hang out, swim and BBQ to spend our days before go and watching the bands.
Girls Against Boys
The Haxan Cloak
And I heard Shackleton will be anounced as well shortly.
Thanks for the replies, I went for the park hotel, the Angelo hotel looked to be the best but too expensive. So, is it safe to walk back to the Diamante after the fest?
Looking forward to seeing godspeed outdoors with all their projections
My girlfriend is off from work at beginning of August I think and this is so cheap, not really realised quite how cheap it is until today.
Staying at the Campanile. Can't really argue with the price of it all. Anyone tell me how the food is? I hear if you don't like sausage, you're out of options.
Also, KTL, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Chelsea Wolfe and others added.
We made sandwiches from stuff we bought at the supermarket. I wouldn't worry too much about the food.
Food on the festival is nice. A lot of options (and yes, also vegetarian), local dishes and the more common festivalfood. It's also not really expensive.
But indeed, the supermarket is really close as well.
See you at campanile then!
this will be 5th year, the line-up has never repeated itself...yet
Gonna be deciding on this soon I reckon as flight / hotel prices are creeping up. How much spending money would you say one would need for this roughly?
but everything is very cheap so I imagine you can get by on £150 for the weekend.
It depends on how you travel.
By plane it's roughly 80£ (to and back), festival itself is 35£, hotel is 63£ (21£ a night). That makes +/- 177£.
Beers are £1.4 (served in pints).
Wasn't including flights and tickets and hotel, just meant in terms of spending over the course of the weekend.
you could do it more than comfortably on £100 the whole three days (say 10 drinks & 2 meals a day - £80, £20 on merch).
+ John Grant
+ Sam Amidon
+ Cass McCombs
+ Veronica Falls
+ How How
some more bands added tonight. Day by day breakdown to follow next week. Cloud nothings are the only band among the new ones that I have heard of.
The Skull Defekts feat. Daniel Higgs,
The Soft Moon,
Dope Body, Fire!,
Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats,
Autre Ne Veut,
We Draw A.
Cloud Nothings, The Soft Moon, Autre Ne Veut and Holy Other!!
If only I wasn't going to Katowice for another festival in August :(
uncle acid... are great too
How on earth is that lineup only £30-odd quid? Unbelievable.
Next year I think will have to book early as possible to make sure the funds are fine. Great line-up.
love those girls
by The Skull Defekts & Daniel Higgs. Excellent stuff... got me so excited we've bought tickets again.
along with the final few bands... http://off-festival.pl/program/
Spotted a few clashes already, but should get to see everything I really want to regardless.
and i'll have to run from Chelsea Wolfe to Julia Holter :(
not as many clashes as prima, but goat v Cass McComb and also the walkmen v Julia Holter are my ones. Happy with the breakdown as there will be very gaps in the schedule for me
Yeah, The Walkmen vs. Julia Holter is my nightmare.
I only have a 3 day ticket, and really really want to see Daniel higgs!
Does anyone want a 4 day pass for £30?
but have told not to be greedy, I am seeing enough bands in the 3 days!
The line up and times are here http://off-festival.pl/program/
Anyone recommend some bands there I shouldn't miss? There's a lot I don't know at all or know only a couple of tracks by.
I've heard good things about shackleton, John Grant and Goat.
especially stara rzeka and hera. youtube them!
apart from the locals, Woods are great. and thee oh sees of coursem and metz are good for a bit of mentalness.
two late pull outs
Disappointing to see Chelsea Wolfe cancel her appearance. Mark Fell is replacement for her.
Off Festival always seems to have 4 or 5 cancellations.
isn't there only 2? I can only remember the 1 from last year, but can't remember who it was.
Forecasts of over 30 degrees, hopefully we'll get a few showers to cool it down like last year.
