New Order - Lost Sirens

ThirstyDog [Edit] [Delete] 8 replies 09:02, 14 January '13

Been looking forward to this ever since it was announced a couple of years ago, but I guess given that it consists of tracks that weren't deemed good enough to be included on an album with rubbish like Jetstream & I Told You So on it, I was always going to be disappointed. Having heard it a couple of times already I'm beyond disappointed - it's absolute shite. One has to hope that the current incarnation of NO decide to record another album as this is no way to wind up a once stellar career.

Thoughts?

  • See Lieutenant, Bad

It would basically sound like that, i.e not that good.

I can't see any point in doing a new album unless they a) get Hooky back and b) insist bernard spends more than 5 mins on the lyrics

  • On the bright side

I did pick up Power, Corruption & Lies and Brotherhood in the HMV clearance sale (replacing my cassette copies).

bit confusing, not least since 'fine time' and 'dream attack' are from the same album. have listened to the album once and not sure i'll do it a second time

    • Fine Time

Fine Time doesn't really sound like anything else on that album though. It is my least favourite track on Technique actually

I think that's what the reviewer is trying to say, that there are 2 New Orders - the guitary one & the dancey one.

Amazed at the positive reviews Lost Sirens is getting though. As a massive longtime NO fan I simply can't listen to it.

        • yeah

but dream attack always struck me as being on the more electronic side of that line. thought his point would have been made better with something off brotherhood

          • Funny

I have it more on the guitar side!
