Here's the funny thing: I remember thinking this is really pretty great, return to form, and as you can see, I'd forgotten about it, and iTunes says I only listened once....
As a music critic, I'd say it's pretty great, but as a music fan, their rootsy sound is outside my usual demographic....
Listening now: yeah, first track is stellar... *shrugs*
...Visitor is a decent record with some interesting sounds, but the band weren't able to maintain that level of ingenuity over the following releases and ended up sounding try-hard and bland.
I wouldn't call it brilliant
Good, but forgettable. Over time I just found it to be a pretty average record.
I just put it on for the first time in ages
and it got me all excited. Love the sharp guitar sound and vocals.
Jay Z's
But yeah Visiter is a properly properly brilliant album.
Shame they've never come close to matching it.
Yeah I love Visiter
I listened to it for the first time in a while too, I'd forgotten how strong it is throughout, at an hour long.
I wasn't really fussed with Time to Die though, nor have I been compelled to listen to their first album.
I seem to be
the only one who really loved Time To Die. I think it's an exceptional album, with some really great songs. Much maligned in my book.
This Is A Business is fantastic
but I found the album a bit disappointing on the whole.
The Dodo's what?
The Dodo's terrible album cover
the dodo's visiter
it says at the top
I don't know this band The Dodo
tell me about them
Was totally blown away when I saw them open for Akron/Family
Chatted with dude during headliner's whole set, really nice guy.
Wrote Visiter review for this here website 8/10... oh, I did Time to Die, too 6/10. But ended on an upnote: next album will be great methinks.
What did you think of No Color?
I think I only listened to it once, I must give it another spin.
Oh, right

Yup, great album
The Season is probably my fav song
the audio equivalent...
...of your 'zany' friend, who, as it turns out, isn't very 'zany'.
In what way?
i suppose i mean that...
...Visitor is a decent record with some interesting sounds, but the band weren't able to maintain that level of ingenuity over the following releases and ended up sounding try-hard and bland.
...and therefore reflecting poorly on that first record*.
*= delayed thought. i blame the drink.
better than Mumford and Sons?
that's unpossible!
I like that song called Walking
