But I'm liable to change my mind on this.
Discovery has the better individual tracks on it, but it's too heavily front-loaded to work as an album. Face To Face is the only thing after the singles to not be rubbish.
Homework for me too. Its dated better I think. I can't get past One More Time, Digital Love or Face to Face anymore. Discovery is good tho but more of its time for me, a fun time but yeah I aint that nostalgic.
Singles on Homework are more fun too: Da Funk, Around The World, Burnin' esspecially.
Overall is more consistent. Homework has some annoying filler.
all their other albums have some good individual tracks on them but don't work as a whole and at best are a 6/10, Homework is an album I can sit down and listen to in its entirity and enjoy every moment of it, literally not a second is wasted on Homework it is one of the most perfect albums ever made.
Homework has a genuine claim for BEST ALBUM EVER status.<3
but the first 5 tracks are the best run on any album ever
Short Circuit is a bit weaker and Too Long goes on a bit too long (yes it is an obvious comment), but the rest of it is just as great as the first run of songs.
First 5 tracks are great for the party mood, but it's the run of:
Something About Us
Face To Face
that I listen to the most. Then again, I also really like Chromatics etc., so make of that what you will.
. . . but the first half is immense.
Agree about Too Long but disagree about Short Circuit, it's my favourite second half track.
But Discovery just edges it for me. Homework would've been perfect if they got rid of about 4 or 5 tracks of filler.
WHY ARE WE EVEN HAVING THIS CONVO???
Homework is one of the best albums ever made, whereas Discovery is merely amazing.
I mean the other way round.
Some good studio tuff post-Homework, but often with more than faint whiff of disco fromage - and "Get Lucky" is no different.
Not even sure what studio tuff would be.
