If the Beach Boy's had released SMiLE when they were meant to
the Beach Boy's could have been held in the same regard as The Beatles, at least around the release of Sgt. Pepper's. Bloody Mike Love, eh?
DiScuss.

My flagrant use of apostrophes in this post were terrible
but I'm glad we agree on this.
This had more soul than anything on Sgt. Peppers

I actually completely disagree with the OP
Just "no" didn't have an obvious place for an apostrophe. Soz.

WELL I'M GLAD WE SEE EYE TO EYE ON THIS
SORRY, I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING YOU JUST POSTED OVER THIS 'HERE COMES THE INDIAN' INSPIRING GEM

dunno, I reckon the mystique around it might have helped their standing in a way. I think it is a great album, but it could have gone either way, might have been claimed might have just seemed a bit wacky, where as the idea of a lost album of material as good as good vibrations is better than any album could actual be, so kind of cemented wilsons lost genius reputation

:D
Dont get me wrong, I really like The Beach Boy's!
Just think the Beatle's are the better band.
Cheer's.

I agree with this actually
The Smile stuff never really grabbed me; bit too whimsical, never seemed to be much substance there for me (a few tracks aside, obviously). Said it before, will say it again: the run of records after Smiley Smile are what frequently make them my favourite band - Wild Honey, Friends, Sunflower, Surf's Up... Incredible.
