Do people on DiS use the website rateyourmusic often?
Its pretty much my main resource for discograhies these days, since it is much easier to browse than on last.fm. Definitely also worth checking out the year lists, where albums are ranked by user scores (http://rateyourmusic.com/charts/top/album/2012), with records averaging around 1000 separate ratings. The list seem to be quite diverse, with more inclusion of metal than many other websites.

oh it's my total go-to whenever I find a new album I like
its user-reviews are often better and more telling than zine blurbs
and it has (almost) everything represented
I use it all the time
To look at user reviews of albums that sound interesting, and to search for similar stuff on the user lists. Indispensible.
Been an active member for a fair few years now
