old that probably saw them live 10 times over the years. Live: hit and miss. Also, albums after Hot Rock are generally rubbish. HOWEVER, when on form they're brilliant.

i've always assumed they were slightly shouty 'slacker' indie rock (which isn't my sort of thing) but i've probably misjudged them terribly. What song will convince me to like them?

it's totally not

they're slightly shouty at some points but it's mostly just really good guitar music and really great vocals. I'd probably listen to the hot rock first.

I saw them at the Cardiff Barfly once by accident. Steven Smith is still a tune.

all-girl post-hardcore (not actual post-hardcore, but with a similar bone structure, as in they sound like indie rock punk rock made after hardcore) with killer melodies and hollered and/or melodious vocals.
