Top 5 Great Musical Acts of All Time
It's 5 minutes till David Letterman comes on in my time zone. Led Zeppelin. So, you know, I gotta stay up. It rained in California, I'm sick, wanna go to bed... but it's Led Zeppelin.
I have some personal prejudices...still, if I'm halfway objective on the subject:
1. Led Zeppelin
2. David Bowie
3. Rolling Stones
4. Broken Social Scene
5. The Beatles

greatest - of all time
take it from the top: charlie parker, little richard, james brown, beatles, hendrix.
michael jackson was just a vocalist who was a weirdo, not a trailblazer, it had been done before. prince could qualify were it not for james brown & jagger. radiohead is derivitive, we already had butt-ugly punk. bowie? i dig him but it was just visual outrage. broken social scene? bitch please. I love the Velvets, The Fall too, but they're just Beatles who read the book. Beatles truly did change music. As did Hendrix. Gil Scott Heron didn't pull thiat stuff out of his ass, there were Babs Gonzales & The Last Poets. Rolling Stones were Beatles with better record collections.
you seem to have a very narrow view of what actually reaches out and grabs people when it comes to music
ie not just the music
but nice of you to explain why other people's choices are WRONG
