Frou Frou's "Details"- 10th Anniversary
Just remembered its now the 10 year anniversary (actually more than that, was released June 2002) of Imogen Heap and Guy Sigsworth's shortlived yet amazing project.
Let Go

Breathe In

I know Imogen Heap has clearly grown as an artist since then, and many here may deride it as cafe focused electro pop for the masses, but nonetheless, looking back, it really can claim to be one of the best trip hop/downtempo albums of the 00's.

Let Go will always remind me of being 26, it was on the soundtrack
to the DC Mountain Lab snowboarding video which came out that year. I can remember hearing it on my iPod and somehow came to associate it with this really bizarre girl I was seeing at the time.
my copy has disappeared...
I'm pretty sure I didn't sell it, as I kinda liked it.. but it has definitely not been seen for a good few years..
Let Go will always be 'that song from the end of Garden State' for me... I watched that film in my first year of uni after a messy break-up which which lead to its obvious flaws being hidden in a wash of 'I want all of this to happen to ME'.. trying to watch it again results in bad memories and also the realization the film is a steaming pile.
Let Go is still good though. And I did also discover The Shins at the same time.
I love this record
Breathe In is the best thing Imogen Heap has ever done
The b-side was also better than the rest of the album - it was far more aggressive and less palatable with attention-grabbing distorted bass...'Close Up' it was called and it sounds like this:

lovely album
I believe they have been talking about a follow up record for some time now.
