where'd you see that?
or is that your guess?
Their website is a leaky old thing

Good work Allo Darlin'
They'll probably get undeservedly ignored by a lot of end of year lists.
anything to do
with them having the top selling album at rough trade the year before?
Quite an obvious list
However, loads missing that will surely make other top 10's (Grizzly Bear, Chromatic, Actress). Refreshing to see Frank Ocean included as the Rough Trade list often looks like a group of lp's where the labels threw Rough Trade a bonus disc if they included their artist in the list. Frank Ocean being on a major disproves that idea slightly.
A dismal list, if true.
The 'Allo Darlin album is actually the insipid abomination of the year.
appears to be correct

Alabama Shakes??!!
Seriously? That's rubbish.
What label are they on again?
there's no connection between Rough Trade The Shop and Rough Trade The Label these days though, is there?
Definitely no connection at all no siree bob
Bit early for all this
Nah, so far only two of those are making my list
:)
not THAT early
all the year-end lists in the monthlies drop about now.
Rough Trade won't have much new stock in from now 'til Xmas, so they use the new releases racks to big up the year's best releases. Makes sense, really.
that goat album is great
much better choice than tame impala for the psych-y album of the year.
no idea why grimes would be number one, really thought the album was damn weak compared to the singles. 8 months is long enough for an album to have grown on me right?
That is a weak list
for a top ten
I like to see Toy debut so high.
resident has picked grimes too
6 of them have Rought Trade exclusive bonus content
including all of the Top 5.
I'm not saying it helps, but it obviously doesn't hurt.
Annoying that the Goat has only got the bonus since being added to the list
Last year I was lucky & hadn't gotten around to buying the White Hills until the RT Xmas list was announce. Bought the Goat at their gig. Grrrr.
Their top one hundred
http://bit.ly/USxMad
is that meant to be in some kinda order?
Yep.....
the wrong one featuring some of the wrong albums.
No idea, pal
That's the link they tweeted.
nice to see the crybaby album in there
if we give you a bonus disc will you stick it in the top 5?
yeak ok.
Genuinely never heard of Goat
head/rock etc
John Talabot and Goat are the only ones I REALLY enjoyed from that list.
