Doors are at 7, but i know nothing after that. Is there a club night on afterwards?
...it's Sir Richard Bishop at 8pm then Swans from 9.00 - 11.30pm.
TheQuietus posted those times on their Twitter feed. A 3 hour set with a Koko curfew in place is probably pushing it a bit.
Probably won't know for sure till I get to the venue and wait in the FUCKING NEVER-ENDING WeGotTickets queue.
Just as the harmonica came out (not because I don't like harmonicas you understand)
What did I miss??
That tune they were likely playing as you left went on for another 15 minutes. Then they played two 5-10 minute tracks (one of which initially sounded like a track off the new record but never turned out to be) and I had to leave as another one began. I think only one of them had what I'd call 'vocals'!
He told us a story about supprting the Fall there 30 years ago and the owner locking the doors to keep people in as so many folks were leaving.
they spent about half an hour starting a song. Or ending a song. Then they spent another half an hour definitely ending a song. It was very loud.
Great night though. Somehow never seen them before so made me happy, if that's the right word.
was the end time, so a 2.5 hour show..they were better than last time I saw them and I feel very happy I was at that show last night.
The bit about the Fall was funny, and Bieber for that matter :O)
and pretty punishing, was wrecked by the end. fun watching gira berate his band members but he seemed in good spirits.
presumably out of fatigue rather than travel
I love them but 2hrs 45mins is quite a lot to handle. The extreme length meant I drank about 4 pints more than I normally would, we were standing on the balcony next to the sound desk so could easily get to the bar. Bleurgh...
but it's in their nature innit. most of the last hour i was in total daze. dunno how they do that every night.
Was standing quite near the speakers on the right. Thought that might have been a bit of an error when the first chord from To Be Kind hit, but stuck it out there for the duration and could barely hear when I left. Think the version of The Seer they played last for over an hour, but bizarrely enough I didn't think the gig dragged at all.
I had no idea what any of the tracks were, bar the 3 minutes which had the chime bar thingys in it
The 'your life is in my hands' bit
Just a bit tedious at times. Generally there'd be a bit which was OMGAMAZING then a 20 minute build up to it occurring again.
I wish he'd sung more. His voice is amazing.
If they've got one support, probably 9.
Two, probably 10.
I've never missed a band going by this anyway.
