Depeche Mode
Their weirdly titled 'Violator'
Yeah I'd say the same.
Music for the Masses is cracking as well though.
It's not that strangely titled by the way
It's really about violation, whether consensual or not, sexual or emotional. The frivolity of it all.
Songs of Faith and Devotion
Violator
Playing the Angel
probably.
Predictable
but it's got to be Violator.
Some Great Reward
Love the rawness of this album. It's almost industrial sounding in places but also has some of their best pop moments on it e.g. people are people, etc. Also has It Doesn't Matter which is a slice of pure excellence and probably one of their most underrated songs.
i would probably say music for the masses
however i probably enjoy listening to the 101 live record the most, as i prefer a lot of the live versions of their 'hits'.
i realise this is similar to saying 'the best of the beatles' is my favourite beatles album
101
and Masses.
hats off to DIS for not going with the typical fannish thing of saying 'Black Celebration' which although brilliant isn't a patch of Masses/ Violator.
I don't have this one. Now I feel like I should.
well the above post is gonna make me sound like an arse
but i do really enjoy Black Celebration
and is my favourite
depeche record
Very strong album, except 2-3 songs which are quite average (some ballads by Martin Gore).
A Broken Frame
Violator
Some Great Reward
My favorite is the blue one....
