hardly crying, just 'wtf'-ing and distancing themselves from a pretty dire advert.
oh wait, Prius is Toyota isn't it.
but I think it was a joke
i know that i hate them from their blogs (and 'manifestos'), press releases and photos, though.
Not really arsed about how much of a bunch of twats they are.
Rather a bunch of twats that can make good music, than say foals/klaxons, etc
Wasn't meant to :(
Why would you actively seek out that press statements before listening to the music? Needed something to get worked up about?
why would i over a band i couldn't give a shit about
i somewhat enjoyed the album, but haven't come across any of their blog statements or crazy cult ting apart from references to them in the one review i read before listening to it...
it's not like their blog or cult pops up unexpectedly on ya when going about every day life.
I read references to their 'cult', instantly assumed they were a terrible bunch of cunts and ignored them ever since
read this on Pitchfork and am now listening to the album. haven't in ages. it's great.
Never listened to them before and now listening to the album on Spotify....... It's absolutely terrible.
i mean, really terrible, really shit, really pointless band.
Which get better with every listen.
I guess Toyota just figured they had an agreement with all the big labels and that covered these guys.
I mean it's possible Toyota nicked a song and didn't use rights clearance but far more likely to me that they've signed a publishing deal which gives the publisher the right to make decisions on syncing on their behalf...
so I was a bit confused as to how they hadn't noticed this.
I once asked Falco if he'd be annoyed with his stuff going on certain adverts and he just said he'd signed a deal knowing full-well he wouldn't be able to control that side so fuck it (or words to that effect).
The fact they're on their own label makes it more likely they do their publishing through someone else ('cos publishing is a bit more complex).
It's just an imprint through XL / Beggars.
The only people in the UK with any kind of blanket agreement for any kind of sync are the BBC and Channel 4. Their publisher will have sorted this, and their management will have signed off on it. And despite what they say, they will have been paid. Whining tossers.
That whole secret movement thing didn't really work did it?
What changed in that time?
*runs off and hides*
The vocals get grating after a while, but the music is bloody brilliant.
Don't really think they're worth either getting in a tiz about or wanking off over.
got what you deserved through your shiitty publishing deal. wankers. congrats on being wack
Someone, somewhere, this will have been signed off by someone close to or involved with the band. And they'll have been paid at least a few grand for it.
it's supposed to be about their tiny tears
Why are they crywanking about this on facebook? Weren't they 'too good' for social media, or any internet presence in general about 18 months ago? Disingenuous pricks.
I think I like them a bit more now.
