London NYE '12
Anyone got specific plans to see in 2013 in the capital? Specifically looking for electronic stuff I guess.
Leaning on dollop at present (http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?405495), mainly because I know what I'll be getting with that line-up and it's unlikely to be anything less than a lot of fun. also never been Troxy before. but nothing is locked down yet I guess
you lot?

My brother is going to the Dollop night
Which, despite the good line up, worries me - as does every line up with Bashmore on these days. My brother's fairly well up on his music but he's going with a load of 'lads' who want to go because of Battle For Middle You. So...
I went to the Urban Nerds night last year which was class. Line up's not as interesting for me this year but would probably still be a lot of fun, if it's the same venue as last year it's solid.
No idea what I'm doing to be honest, might scour RA for a bit now.
yeah Julio is a massive draw these days, kinda leading the house/bass mainstream assault with Disclosure and Jamie Jones
but I'd rather spend money on a bill stacked with acts that are guaranteed to nail the occasion than, I dunno, take a punt on something a little less obvious that is interesting but not really fit for a NYE celebration.
I'm sure The Troxy will be different than a festival in a field or whatever...
Yeah to be fair there's absolutely no way all of those sets won't be great
And also it will probably be a better (read: less TOWIE) crowd than Eastern Electrics was, and that was a great laugh with absolutely no issues, so I'm probably just being a grumpy old man for no reason haha.
Think I might be going to the Border Community night
mainly because it's fairly cheap & easy to get a good group together for.
Would love to see the Robert Hood live set at Fabric, but am relatively unfazed by the rest of the line up. Same goes for Eastern Electrics. Not sure about 3 hours of Bicep at Corsica.
The Dollop line up is good, but twice the price of BC to see stuff I've already caught recently... Basically, as usual, I'm not too bothered about any NYE line up, it's all spread a bit thin.
Has anyone been announced for the Border Community one yet?
That Corsica line up is okay, but I'm seriously bored of Move D (I have a group of friends who are obsessed with Warm/Electric Minds nights which I find interminably dull for the most part) and I'm seeing Bicep next week with Omar S anyway.
It hasn't officially
But it's going to be your standard fair - Holden, Fake, Luke Abbot, Wesley Matsel.
Maybe one or two surprises when it's announced today.
Here you go

Couple of nice additions chucked in.
I might hit this actually

Even if it is a line up I've seen a thousand times. It'd be easy to rally a group for it.
Otherwise, this one looks really good as well, 1200 seems like a good capacity too:

I'm gonna be back in London again this year
woohoo, good club scene with actual proper sized venues.
Fancy the fabric night with Hood and Four Tet and Steffi, nice variety.
Like the look of the Untold and Blawan night. will be keeping a keen eye on this thread.
Went for Todd Terje at Brixton Clubhouse
As he always brings the funtimes vibes :D :D
Probably not up to your standards
But you could always come to my night
It's going to be awesome

so where is everyone going?
Dragging the gf to London and really want to go out. So far I think Border Community is leading the pack.
Yah, I'm hitting BC
Pretty hyped.
Got a ticket for the Swamp81 night in the end
Line up is amazing.
Didn't see the finished line up for that
Bit jealous tbh! Border Community should be awesome, but it's less party.
I always think
That if you want to experience a great night out at London clubs then New Years is about the worst night to do it.
On New Years I try to just party with as many friends as possible somewhere low key and go back to seeing the DJ's next week!
Aye.
I know the early bird tickets were cheaper for a few of those nights listed above, but I find with my group of friends it's pretty hard to get solid commitments for NYE months in advance. And now everything's like £30-£35 just for entry. Drink, gear, taxi's, you're looking at a really expensive night. I think I'd rather just go to a house party on NYE to be honest.
Going to the Old Blue Last for Tubelord's last show.
Seems reliable. Probably the option where I'll know the most people attending, so doing the same thing as I'd usually like to do sounds pretty appealing.
This is a nice little line up (Kode9 & Scratcha) in a great little venue (Birthdays)

You could come to this
It's only a tenner, and like a big, awesome house party

in the valley between merthyr and brecon for the night. it's got a little open fire.
SLAMMIN
i'm off to this
which should be really good i reckon

Well...
We're doing this in Brixton.

We've had the last Saturday of every month since January, so we've been planning this since about May.
We've hand picked the bands, so we've got the best band we've had in all year, the New Cut Gang, and a never before seen Bowie tribute band, Cats from Japan, which was partially formed from these boards. The burlesque line up is very solid too, three artists performing two acts each. With the buffet and the two free drinks and everything, we think it's a killer deal.
