Anyone going/thinking of going?

I think if I were to go to one it would be The Mix
Great idea though, hope they do it in some other places too.
The Computer World show obviously
Yes. But TEE show has really great visuals with trains. They fit perfectly with music.
bunch of mates booked/ booking tickets to this
trans europe or man machine would be the ones i'd go to
but i'm hoping they'll do it in the uk at some point
once they have found a venue quirky enough for them
REALLY WANT TO GO TO THIS
T-E-E
I would absolutely love to go, but zero chance of doing so.
.
Tour de France for me too.
LONDON
http://thequietus.com/articles/10897-kraftwerk-tate-modern
woah
60 quid :(
Really wanna go to the Radio-Activity show though...
Fucking yes!
Radio-Activity for me
Although would dearly, dearly love to go to all of them.
This is like choosing between your children
I'd love to see a few of these shows, but even one is pretty fucking expensive. Probably try and get tickets for The Man Machine I think.
TEE or Computer World
hopefully, would love to do both but no way I can afford it.
Really want to go to this, too broke : (
Trans Europe Express if I had to choose one.
Anybody get me on a guest list or something? Can repay you in hi-fives and excellent, excellent banter.
you
We expect these events to be extremely popular, so there is a four ticket limit per person for a single show and it is not possible to buy tickets for the whole series. This is to ensure a greater number of people get to experience Kraftwerk at Tate Modern.
Is this going to sound good?
I fear for the cavernous hall's acoustics...
I saw PJ Harvey there in 2003
sound was ace.
are these gonna be in
3d?
are
they just doing the albums or are they doing a greatest hits after?
£60.00 is a lot for under an hour...
Setlists from the previous times they've done this suggest...
... they do the album and then play hefty amount of hits after it.
http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/kraftwerk/2012/museum-of-modern-art-new-york-ny-1bde7d84.html
That setlist is incredible.
Yep
Anyone hear anything about the MOMA shows that would suggest a reason
for any of the nights being particularly better than the others?
£60
bloody ridic'
MUST GO TO THE TEE
Anyone know if the tate will be open on wednesday to buy tickets in person???
Its going to be impossible to get any tickets, isn't it?
This is what i fear
truly what i fear
When they did New York this year tickets were $25
http://www.moma.org/visit/calendar/exhibitions/1257
That's roughly £15 per night in NEW YORK !! It costs London 4 times as much. Can someone please explain this ?
Could this be the explanation?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4yohA0ZVt4
tickets are £10.
£50 for (hire of) 3D glasses.
I'm all over this
I know it's expensive but I'm not gonna get the chance to see them often. It'll be a birthday present, if we get tickets...I'm assuming the weekend tickets especially will be harder to get.
Possibly a silly question,
But has anyone seen them in the past few years? Obviously I'd love to see them, but £60 is a hell of a lot. And since Schneider left, Hütter is the only original member, yeah? Just wondering whether that has affected anyone's experience of seeing them?
not that you can get tickets for it
butthe last time i saw them (in the manchester velodrome in 3d) was actually better than the time previously - the brixton double header in what, 2003 was it?
Wouldn't have thought so
It's not like they were ever a band made up of distinct characters, like a Jagger/Richards/Wood/Watts kind of thing. I've always thought of Kraftwerk as a single entity, an institution regardless of who happens to be a member at any particular time. A bit like Sugababes.
*awards brightonb the coolest kid at school badge*
This is fun.
I got through on the phone...
Computer World, here I come.
what number?! the one given?
Yeah on the screen, 0207 887 4919, was on hold for ages

Louis Pattison on Twitter
Tickets for Autobahn! Apparently all shows still on sale (as of 8.56am). So still worth hitting the phone.
Had to give up
to come to work. Pissflaps :(
did anyone else notice the 'Buy Now' link went up at 8.30 exactly?
doesn't that suggest it wasn't set to GMT / didn't take into account DST?
worth just going there?
Fiasco

02078878888

FOUR TICKETS TO TRANS EUROPA EXPRESS IT IS
I
Got 4 tickets for Trans Europe Express on the 8888 number. Only Man machine is sold out. DONT GIVE UP!
all about the 8888
number.
Twitter tip
I saw someone on twitter say that they'd emailed the members office saying they couldn't get through with their member number and they got a call back 20 mins later and got tickets. I just tried this and it worked too. There was no Tate member pre-sale. Non-transferable so you need to be going with a member but it might be a way in if you know one
you beauty
mate instructed
it appears they have stopped doing this now
back to the phones
finally through to the queue
been on hold for about 20 minutes. my neck hurts from wedging the phone between head and shoulder while I work.
I was in the queue for 35 mins
Be strong!
34.30 now!
only 30 seconds left then...
To those of you complaining
about paying 60 quid, which does seem exorbitant (though I happily paid it a whole 8 years ago to see Tom Waits at the Apollo), the fucking Vaccines are playing here in Bangkok next month, and tickets are nearly 50 quid. Yes, that's 50 quid. The Vaccines. 50 quid.
:D
This guy is too rock'n'roll for me
I genuinely don't understand his post
I dunno how long i can sustain this, being at work
if the line doesnt connect, will it still go on the outgoing calls log?
At least you are connected...
...I've dialed both numbers a combined total of 300+ times!
I've never been so excited about being on hold!!
300+ aint shit
5 calls a minute for 5.5 hours from two seperate phones = 3000+ calls!
After half an hour of holding
I got tickets for Radioactivty, which was the one i wanted! Hoorah!
Anyone still trying....just hang in there!
Giving up...
I've been told that TEE and Man Machine are both sold out. Those are the ones I really wanted to go to.
I've priced their gigs and Dusseldorf. I'd be coming down from Glasgow for the Tate gigs, so the German gigs might even work out cheaper.
Given up.
Fuck this fucking bunch of amateurs.
Had to give up
Was on hold for 50 minutes. I'm at work, couldn't stay by my desk any longer. Waste of time.
this has broken me
2 tickets for tour de france required if anyone gets through and is feeling generous x
.
Gave up at 7.35. Knew this would happen.
I bet this gig is full of people chatting the whole way through.
I was in the Tate at lunchtime
Quite a queue snaking around the Turbine Hall but nothing too heavy. If I was an uber fan I'd have got in there but I'm not, so I stood and watched people wandering back up the Turbine slope excitedly saying "I've got a Computer World ticket" into their mobiles. These gigs will be pretty special in that space.
Which is all well and good...
...apart from the fact that the Tate said no 'in person' sales would be made. Bunch of fucking amateurs making it up as they go along.
Cheeky swines huh
I'm assuming the queue also contained people wanting to buy tickets for a current exhibition as well but there were a high number of beards and anoraks on show which made me think "Kraftwerk queue". Quite full with chaps rather than ladies and families.
I guess
Though
a) stupidly overpriced
and
b) It's only one member of the band left, so hard to see it as being Kraftwerk exactly...
i'd say....
a) yes
and
b) who gives a shit, its not like Florian or Karl had massive stage presence is it?
I'd say
a) compared to other gigs, definately not overpriced. Expensive, but not overpriced.
b) RALF IS DA FUCKING MAN.
Surprised at just how badly this all turned out
Getting uncomfortable memories of Bloc as far as 2012 fiascos go. Pretty disappointed.
Everyone who wanted a ticket for Bloc got one
That was part of the problem.
Different type of problem obviously
related by incredibly poor organisational skills
that's that then
All tickets for Kraftwerk at Tate Modern have now sold out.
We experienced a phenomenal demand as soon as ticket sales went live and we are sorry if you've not been successful in getting tickets.
To purchase tickets for other Tate exhibitions and events, please call 020 7887 8888 between 9.45 and 18.00.
Why is it almost every time you get something like this
and the people organising it KNOW there's going to be a shitload of demand and they even SAY they KNOW there's going to be a shitload of demand, the server falls apart and everything seizes up? I think rule of thumb should be, however much demand you're expecting, prepare for at least double.
Non-scalable systems
In this day and age they should have systems that can scale up and meet exceptionally high demand. "Oh, we've got 1,000,000 people requesting access to this system, 5 minutes ago it was 10 people, let's spin up 10 more application servers to cope with the demand."
In today's world of cloud computing this isn't difficult, and should happen automatically if you're clever enough to have designed a system that way.
Basically they never prepared for this, or didn't think it was worth investing the time, effort and cash into building a system for this, admittedly, one-off freak event.
Nicholas Serota says it's not the first time a website has crashed from over demand
which he probably thinks is a smart answer but really he's damning himself because, you know, perhaps you should LEARN from other sites crashing because of demand.
Serota is a snivelly wanker
who should have the decency to admit that Tate completely failed on this. All tickets should have been sold electronically in ten minutes, as would have happened if a proper ticket agency did it.
and then we'd have a whole thread of people
complaining about booking fees.
almost let out a scream of joy when it rang through
alas, all tickets sold out...
Yeah
now the problem is that many won't be looking on the website anymore, which is where it says it's sold out. So they're going to be getting loads of calls still.
Finally got tickets at about 3pm. Cost me and my mucker the extra
cash to join as a member though.
what a random comment.
I have such high hopes for this sub-thread.
Actually I didn't to be honest, being old and having a massive electronic
record collection stretching back 25 years that my wife is constantly trying to get rid of I'm quite choosey about what I spend money on these days. I did quite enjoy that Ulrich Schnauss and Mark Peters release though and Michael Mayers album the name of which escapes me.
He's from Engineers. Ulrich Schnauss is part of their band
or at least was for a few years. They released an album together..

:D Great Troll.
I think he's gonna have to do better. Entry level trolling at its worst : (
his name being "guitarhero"
Really made it for me,
It's bightonb/kennydope

Trans Europa Express
So, after the Tate fiasco, it's all coming up Millhouse.
They released some tickets they had held back for the Dusseldorf shows at 10am this morning.
We got tickets to go see TEE over there.
Pretty excited. We are going to make a wee trip to Berlin while we are over there too.
Heading there from Glasgow will probably be as cheap as heading down to London for half a week. The price of accommodation alone in London is ridiculous!
