really really good. i can't say what my favourite is so far, because it's going to take a while for the songs to sink in. i still feel the choris to Tempest is a bit weak, but it does work better on the album that it did hearing it on its own and the rest of the album sound massive.

i work for the bloody label and am being made to wait til tomorrow

you can really hear the new bassist coming into his own. Chi would NEVER have done some of the things that happen here, and much as I miss him it's good for the record.

Though it wasn't well titled so whatever. Yes this thing is massive. Just put aside an hour of my day to lie on my bed and listen with my headphones. Absolutely amazing. Gauze and Entombed are highlights so far, though there's really no weak link. Easily going to be my album of the year.

I guess Rolling Stone is where it's at these days.

since Soundcloud upgraded I've had a few issues in firefox sometimes and chrome other times.

kinda disappointed, but then I'm not sure Deftones are really a one listen, sat a computer, doing emails sort of band.
Why did the Crosses LP never come out or did I miss it?

and i think it's a record you need some almost zen-like stillness for, and a place you can crank it while you're unencumbered

It's only first listen so won't be too quick to jump the gun but think I might end up liking this one more than Diamond Eyes.

The new Deftones album is not fucking brilliant.

Three listens through and it's still boring, bland and lacking ideas.

i sometimes think the songs are a bit long in places, but at other times i'm completely blown away by the same songs.

Like the clarity in places, and it's clearly breaking away from the full on noise of DE. But there's less here to love and more to just feel comforted. I love Deftones, but it's the first time in a while I've felt a little like they're going through the motions a bit. I might change my mind, but it's not had the same impact DE had at all.

at nearly £30 a pop! well shut my mouth!

Particularly the second half - Rosemary and Goon Squad.. my word.

and kind of got lumped in with that crowd, especially with Back to School, but they are SOOOO much better.

But the new one is better than both. TRUE FACT, NO BACKSIES.

Fake History was my favourite Glassjaw lite album from 2011.

Didn't remember how much they sound like old Filter, though...
