New Deftones album is fucking brilliant.

The guitars sound so very much more driven - almost like QOTSA grind.

Hugely, hugely impressive. Favourite track is Tempest after two listens.

        Chrome has a play button but it won't play, FF just has a huge grey space where soundcloud should be, not firing up IE... will wait for Monday like in the 90's.

  really really good. i can't say what my favourite is so far, because it's going to take a while for the songs to sink in. i still feel the choris to Tempest is a bit weak, but it does work better on the album that it did hearing it on its own and the rest of the album sound massive.

    Though it wasn't well titled so whatever. Yes this thing is massive. Just put aside an hour of my day to lie on my bed and listen with my headphones. Absolutely amazing. Gauze and Entombed are highlights so far, though there's really no weak link. Easily going to be my album of the year.

  - Actually a little underwhelmed
    
    Like the clarity in places, and it's clearly breaking away from the full on noise of DE. But there's less here to love and more to just feel comforted. I love Deftones, but it's the first time in a while I've felt a little like they're going through the motions a bit. I might change my mind, but it's not had the same impact DE had at all.
