Let's use this thread to promote albums made by DiSers (a JAGtastic follow-up to the brilliant Soundcloud thread)
I really enjoyed hearing those Soundcloud tracks from DiSers. It was a lovely reminder that, beneath all of the silly Radiohead threads and trolling, there are a shitload of talented and supportive fellow musicians on here.
Anyway, yesterday my band uploaded our album onto Bandcamp. This is the first time I've ever made a record and it has been, without question, one of the most exciting, cathartic and enjoyable things I've ever done with my life. And to make it with some of my dearest friends just made it even more special.
Here's it is. I know it's probably not everyone's cup of tea but if you're into alt. country bands like Lambchop, Wilco & Sparklehorse then hopefully you'll enjoy some of it:-
So, DiS Albums then. Let's have some more.....

Albums?!
So rockist
Have some EPs
http://bodyinthethames.bandcamp.com/album/-
http://bodyinthethames.bandcamp.com/album/trip-trap-peacock
http://bodyinthethames.bandcamp.com/album/moonbass-011-ep-redux
oh no
bandcamp calls them albums
so rockist
Wow, that's actually pretty good.
Well done, mate.
All the best.
I'm neither talented nor supportive
but if you search my name (Paul Hawkins) on Spotify you can find both the albums I've done with my band.
We tend to get compared to Daniel Johnston, Nick Cave and the Fall if that helps anyone. Which it almost certainly doesn't.
What does it feel like to have a Wikipedia page?
I find it quite funny and astonishing nobody's ever tried to take it down and point out that I'm not very notable...
You should use it to your advantage. I bet it would go down great
in a job interview, or while trying to chat someone up.
Good point. Maybe I will!
Only EPs too I'm afraid
But if that's cool with the gang, here's some singer songwriter/shoegazer stuff...
https://soundcloud.com/robargent
Any feedback, suggestions and stuff would be greatly appreciated.
I plug these albums quite enough as it is,
but they're good, so what the hell:
Internet Forever:
http://tapealarm.bandcamp.com
(indie pop with electronic bits and slightly abstract bits) [£6 d/l, £10 lp+dl, £25 tshirt+cd]
Her Parents:
http://herparents.bandcamp.com
(idiotic punk) [£3 d/l, £10 tshirt+d/l]
I run a blog
and I put a compilation out today. Does that count? It's free, downloadable and bloody lovely.

Midnite Cabaret
and related stuff

So Alien
mutebranches.bandcamp.com/album/so-alien
So Remote
mutebranches.bandcamp.com/album/so-remote
Incidentally, I put these both on Last.fm yesterday -- cause, I dunno, maybe some of you are traumatised by Bandcamp...
goddammit
http://mutebranches.bandcamp.com/album/so-alien
http://mutebranches.bandcamp.com/album/so-remote
http://www.last.fm/music/Mute+Branches
So Alien is sounding pretty nice
downloading now
thank you!
Little Green Jag
Billy Vincent - She
Was out earlier this year. Indie-folk, hints of country, I'm useless with genres.
PS - Cat Mmeat
Only on track 1, but sounds promising thus far. Will grace my stereo over the coming days I'm sure.
^ this
The description got me really interested, and I'm listening to the first track, which is great. Unfortunately, I haven't the time to listen to the whole thing now, but I'm about to download it for later!
Congratulations as well, it sounds like you really care about this project.
Me three
It's got quite a tindersticks feel to it too I think
gonna eat some cinnamon buns and drink tea and listen to the rest in the headphones
Thank you so much everyone!
Listened to the whole thing all the way through now
and generally I'm not a fan of slide guitar or banjos plus there's a couple of issues here and there productionwise but to be honest it doesn't really matter and I just have to applaud a sterling effort all round really
well done guys
My favourite track on first listen is Dresden Street Reckless - love the melody - and I really like Trench too though I recognise both that and Prosthetic Wing from listening on Soundcloud
Yeah, really good work
One thing though, why don't you have downloads set as name-your-own-price with a zero minimum? Perhaps you don't want to sully it with market forces or anything and that's fine but people will definitely buy this, pay cash monies for it, if you let them.
Glad you liked it.
I just don't really feel any need to ask people to pay for it. If anything, the more we can do to get people to listen to it the better. And nothing beats getting something for free, right?
Oh, and slide/banjo rocks by the way! ;-)
but you can set the minimum to free ....so it's like a donation if people want to pay
but yeah, sure I can understand if you don't want to commodify your art or whatnot but banjo and pedal steel guitar strings don't come for free
I made this over the last year
I'm pretty proud of it. It's called Titian's Got Balance.
It's mainly electropop, but then it finishes with a massive murder ballad.

Following from my posts in the Soundcloud thread...
...my band An Axe are releasing our debut, 'She is Dust' on the 19th November.
Pre-orders are now up on Bandcamp - http://anaxe.bandcamp.com
Two tracks streaming on there before the release date.
It's a bit louder than the Soundcloud singles. She what you think.
Will definitely have a listen to the other posts here asap!
This is my band
but you don't really care.

Great Cop
indie-punk, loved the 90s
http://greatcop.bandcamp.com/
I'm gonna jag this for, let's say, my cousin
http://rabbitmilk.bandcamp.com/
it's sort of awkwardly constructed, acousticky something
I like what I'm hearing here,
'Helluhraun' is reminding me quite a lot of The Microphones, at this moment.
I don't need to tell you that's a good thing. :)
bless you
will pass that on to my cousin
A couple of old EPs I did
http://cantswimwontswim.bandcamp.com
Our first EP we did in July...
Does this mean we get to re-post all the links we did on the last thread? We had a great time making this EP and made up for really shit AS results. Will have to do a double album in preparation for next years A levels results http://babyfacedassassins.bandcamp.com/
I got some good responses on the Soundcloud thread.
So here's my previous band's Bandcamp:
http://lochawe.bandcamp.com/
embers
http://embersembers.bandcamp.com/
My band. We've just released our debut single. John kennedy at xfm made it his single of the week. That was nice. We've had a great reaction so far too. Lots of big blogs and that. We've played a handful of gigs so far and played with The Invisible last week. That was fun. Anyway. Have a listen if you like lots of noise and lots of energy. Big drums and big guitars and big choruses and big strings and stuff. End of the world soundtrack-ey type stuff, but with songs attached etc.
One member of Atomck has an a DiS account tho he probably only posted to troll me in some thread so I'll post it:
Cementimental's friends, collaborators and fellow Newport survivors ATOMÇK's new album NEVER WORK is downloadable for free or pay-what-you-want. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you like really great crust/noise/grindcore. 19 tracks and only 17 minutes-ish = you know you're in for good times. :)
http://atomck.bandcamp.com/album/never-work
Now endorsed by Agoraphobic Nosebleed, who know a thing or two about this sort of stuff:
ANB @agoraphobicnb
Fuckin' killer new @atomck release! http://atomck.bandcamp.com/album/never-work … easily one of the best grindcore bands in Europe! PLZ RT!

Really liking 'Doe'
Nice production, too. Big, without being *too* big.
I'm not going to jag my old bands...
But I will jag my artwork for bands (as I'm poor)

Tracks need tweaking, mastering blah blah blah. Plan to 'release' a 9 track album in the next couple of months. It's indie pop, I guess.
Latest Cementimental album:
Starts with harsh/unpolished noise and gets kind of ambient
http://cementimental.bandcamp.com/album/the-next-cdr
Here's the one I did a while back:
