Live music from:
Action Beat is an improvised noise/no-wave punk band, which is often made up of musicians who are available to play the gig on any particular date. Their sound is like early Sonic Youth, The EX and Glenn Branca, whilst their live energy is like Fugazi. They have the touring ethic of Black Flag and want to play as many shows as they possibly can. The band have recently played with up to 14 members on stage, but at a normal gig will have at least 3 guitarists, a bassist and
between 1 and 4 drummers.
Shitney Cunstone, pioneer of Post-Queer Pop, famed for such hits as 'Mock-Tranz' and 'Wolverine on the Beach' has been out of the limelight for some time recording a new album 'Lenticular Tortilla' in Estonia. Shitney was born in Bean, Kent, in 1976 and suffers from foreign accent syndrome. She currently lives and works in London.
Juffage is Jeff T. Smith, a solo sound artist and multi-instrumentalist from Leeds UK, via Chicago, Illinois. His newest album ‘Semicircle’ was released on Function Records to widespread critical acclaim from the NME, Loud & Quiet, Drowned in Sound, Bearded Magazine, and others.
A recording enthusiast at heart, Jeff spent time in Engine Studios (w/ Brian Deck), Electrical Audio (w/ Steve Albini), as well as several home studios around the world molding 'Semicircle' into a cohesive entity. His compelling live performances bring these multi-layered recordings to the stage, utilizing drums, basses, guitars, vocals, keys, clarinets, manipulated cassettes, seamless live-looping, and super-colossal multitastking to construct complex, yet surprising catchy pop songs.
Absurdist nonsense noise, plunderphonics, falling over, cut-ups, cut-downs, annoying music, possibility of spaghetti.
