I'm a big fan. I've had We Are Never Getting Back Together in my head since she was on X Factor last week, and You Belong With Me is one of the best songs of the past few years. She seems genuinely, frighteningly nice as well, though maybe it's just amazing PR. I know someone who saw her live and reckoned she had been 'powdering her nose' pre-show.

I don't believe it AT ALL
Its called adrenaline. Taylor Swift has never been pictures out drinking or clubbing or doing drugs and you would be able to tell if she was like that. Not just from the way she was performing on stage but by the way she is in her day to day life. Take LiLo for example. If you're suggesting Taylor Swift does coke before every show, she'd be a wreck. Its physically exhausting doing a show like that most of the time, every night and there is no way she would be able to recover from it after doing it on drugs.
She's said before that she sees herself as a role model for young girls and that when she was younger, she would copy people on TV. She takes it very seriously and believes she has a responsibility to be sensible and show people that there is a different way to live other than just partying. I don't even think she likes drinking all that much.
I think you're both really wrong about her and if she was doing to get her through every show, she would have crashed by now and we would have seen it.
That was a bit ranty/angry, sorry.
But the secret formula for being able to pull of those shows is to not pump your body with drugs and recover properly after every show. And train for them etc

Those are my proper views on the whole thing. Same applies to Katy Perry. She's been known to be a bit of a party girl but she would not be able to function the next day if she did her shows whilst on something. It just wouldn't be possible. Theres so much to remember and its all co-ordinated. Britney Spears on the other hand. According to someone who saw her stage show (the circus one), it was diabolical. Sloppy dances and shit singing. She probably wasn't clean during that which would be why it was so awful.
I think the real point to take from this is
Taylor Swift, regardless of anything, is actually very good live.

I met her (briefly) earlier in the year, and she was lovely.
Also: she tours with members of her family, so there's no way she'd be high as a kite on stage. She's a bit scatty and 'quirky' as it is, before you even factor in on-stage adrenaline.

self titled is a bit commercial radio country but there's still some hits, and it's actually the album where her slow songs are the most tolerable
fearless is bloated, but it's not irredeemably bloated, the singles are all great and it's just a case of picking up the momentum in the second half.
speak now is the best album front to back, everything good about taylor is on here and it's so jam packed with memorable hooks. she wrote every track on this album so i was hoping that would continue going into Red..
but red is probably her worst album, 4real :( about the same hit-rate as self titled but nowhere near as charming. i knew things weren't going to be good when i saw it featured gary lightbody and ed sheeran. the second half is just stupidly bloated and boring. but state of grace/i knew you were trouble/WANEGBT are some of her best songs so it's not like this chapter was a disaster, it's just the least enjoyable overall album.

I just find a lot of the 'artists' in the current spearhead of big, brash American pop airbrushed to the extreme (in image and music) in their never-ending quest to distill the 'perfect' pop star, and we're trying to emulate it with the likes of One Direction, etc. If there's really no outlet for kids today to rebel against this sort of thing, that's a really sad situation.
