Swans, Sound Control Manchester 17/11
Hey has any one got 2 spare tickets for this?
I really want to got but like an idiot left it late to buy them and now its sold out online. If anyone is feeling extremely generous they could pick some up for me from Piccadilly Records as thats the only place there still available from.
I'll be eternally grateful for any one who can help at all.

Possibly going there to get myself one on Friday if it's not sold out by then.
If they haven't I could pick you two up if needed.
^what a nice guy!
Interview with Swans here innit
http://www.godisinthetvzine.co.uk/2012/10/15/interview-michael-giraswans-speaks-to-giittv/
great interview
nice to see someone who knows something about them ask him some really probing questions. he seems quite defensive in some interviews but seemed to really open up.
thanks ethric
x (thinly veiled 'i wrote that' post)
That's a brilliant interview
First, well done on catching him on a good day and secondly the pitch of questions seemed just right.
Can you imagine Michael Gira as your dad? Crikey.
thank you very much, very pleased some fans seem to like it
he was a lovely interviewee. i just wish i'd had another half an hour with him but he went straight on to the next interview...
my dad's dead so yeah i can weirdly...
x
phone piccadilly records up
sure theyd take orders over the phone if you could get there yourself.
I've tried this before.
They laughed down the phone at me.
oh :(
they're so friendly in the shop too... :(
It's sold out :(((((
I say this like I had the cash to get a ticket if it hadn't. lolz.
excited
i'm clearly never gonna be able to hear again, though
so annoyed i'm on holiday when this is happening
>:(
i was interested in going to this
tho obviously wont be going now....
isn't it a 3 hour set tho? this may sound weird, but that actually put me off buying a ticket straight away...there are very few bands where i would be interesting in watching in seeing a 3 hour set by, and i can imagine swans would be quite testing!
saw them earlier in the summer anyway, so i've got my fill of swans for the year :D
did you see them in Poland?
i think i remember you saying that.
they ended up playing for 2hr30 and it didn't drag for a second.
yeah i saw them at off :D
you know, you're probably right come to think of it. however i left about 20 minutes before the end to get a drink, but could certainly hear the rest of it :) in a small venue tho, i dread to think what my head would be like after......!
argh
kept putting this off in the vain hope there would be tickets available at the start of November. :(
this will be the third
in my three nights of swans season..if anyone from my party drops out you can have first dibs on the ticket sixstring...
Oh fucking fuck
I was going to get a ticket for this when I got paid tomorrow
So yeah
If anyone else has a spare for this I can get money to you asap.
thanks Matthewslaughter
thats really kind of you. In the mean while i will keep my search going.
so what did you geezers think?
also, was it just me or was the main guy from Destroyer there?
He played Friday night at Sound Control, so must probs.
Massively over-sold it in there, which really pissed me off. The difference between the Japandroids 'sold out' show and this one was ridiculous. Could walk/move/breathe at the Japandroids one, which was nice.
Agreed...
They didn't put the air con on either and there were people fainting around me with more than an hour still left to go, ridiculous really when it was that busy and they were on for so long.
I didn't think that they were that loud either based on the reviews of this tour, not that they were quiet by any means, but it wasn't the onslaught of volume that some have made it out to be even when I took my plugs out.
Then again, I thought the same every time I have been to Sound Control so I'll try and make one of the April shows now.
i think the air con broke?
also, i don't think it was as oversold as it seemed, i think it was just a lot of people chose to stand towards the back, which in turn caused congestion? i was stood in the corner right at the very back, cause i got there late, but could see that there was quite a bit more space closer to the front and to the sides, but didn't want to push my way to the through the crowd, as it annoys me when people do it to me?
Swans request the AC to be turned off
According to Gira it's to help his voice
I'm pretty sure I read that Gira does that in every venue
