Kraftwerk and Public Enemy among Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees
"German electronica pioneers would be the first all-synth group to join the Hall of Fame if inducted in 2013."

A well deserved nomination for this legendary group.
PS: Listening to Kraftwerk right now...

Public Display of Affection
Bumsnogger
and rock and roll hall of fame has got to be one of the worst thing humans have ever created
Two of my top ten...
...favourite artists of all time. Collaboration?
ja, boiiiiii
Afrika Baambataa were inspired by Kraftwerk for their 'Planet Rock'. Probably it would work for Public Enemy too...
err you know Afrika's one man right?
For some reason I thought it's band...
nope, just one fella
Afrika Baambataa name sounds like a band name
^ a bit racist
I mean .. really?
Public Enemy, NWA, Albert King, Chic, Deep Purple, Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the Marvelettes, the Meters, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Procol Harum and Rush.
Surely nobody beyond industry wank-offs and people who think Bob Harris' radio shows are a bit too extreme cares about the R'n'R Hall of Fame
Rock and Roll was a concept to most,
but it never meant shit to me.

Rock and Roll...
... has become a generational term. to certain ages, its a by-word for revolution. over the years, that meaning has become diluted. like most things, it has aged. the term might not mean shit to you, but it sure as fuck still means something to someone.
sorry for the lack of humour in this post, but i found yours rather conceited and so felt forced to contend.
even though it's a joke
we still want the right people in it. kraftwerk, definitely. the meters, butterfield, absolutely. public enemy yeah, but nwa? and why joan jett? because "she loves rock & roll"? not before the MC5, I'll tell you that much.
