The Rolling Radiohead thread
Heard a new track? Wicked, post it here and eveyone can dissect it to within an inch of its life. Seen them live? Add your review/photo of Jonny Greenwood messing about with a radio or something and everyone can discuss it here. Same for prospective new albums, RANKINGS, comparing Radiohead to bands they have very little in common with, Radiohead based puns, revisiting albums that were revisited last week and bickering about their "experimental" side. So now you can talk all things Radiohead without the obligatory "great, another Radiothread post..." (I bet that's the first post).
I probably won't post in this much. I don't why it was me who started it. TheShipment told me to. DOn't know why he didn't do it himself tbh. Keep it real.

Radiohead
Red Hot Chili Peppers
great, another Radiothread post...
I should start this with a point of discussion
FlyLo's new album is very good. Thom features on "Electric Candyman", thoughts on his contribution?

Is Radiohead killing the music forum?
A rolling Radiohead thread could do it, make no mistake!
IS they?!!
Well, maybe
*Radiothread
START AGAIN
ffs
Want an instrumental version of that Atoms For Peace song
Dat production.
Still not on speaking terms with them for charging £70 a ticket
I've done this before.
It doesn't end well.
Eh thats cos alpha deluxe ruined it.
The intent was there and it would have worked otherwise I think. It'll be up to you radiohead fans to keep it going and take it seriously or not, ignore the trolls/haters/naysayers and just get your roll on.

I'm beginning to think Sean should just admit defeat and
set up a whole board devoted to Radiohead.
http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4335618
and as if that thread wasn't embarrassing enough
AlphaDeluxe_ was banned so now it looks like i'm mostly talking to myself. not much has changed.
We're not seriously doing this are we?
Why not?
Better than having 5-25 new RH threads a day/week don't you think?.
We can narrow it down to this one and the whatever joke thread Jordan is going to continue to do on a daily basis.
Definitely in need of a pre-amp.
have they hired a drummer yet
Are they still hypocrites, that's what I want to know
Daily bump
(yes I'm serious)
This thread isn't going to work
but anyway, IR era b-sides are great, Go Slowly, Last Flowers and 4 Minute Warning in particular
They were part of In Rainbows itself am I right?
I enjoyed the whole of CD2 I think, though it did fit so well as an album. In Rainbows remains the only album of theirs I actually listen to now and them, I think it's ace.
CD2 was part of the deluxe pack
but they were issued as b-sides too. As a lapsed Radiohead obsessive I still go back through a lot of their catalogue now and then and IR with now some time stands up to the rest of it very very well.
i listened to thom's alternative track listing for hail to the theig earlier
Such a better album that way.
Link?
not to say i don't like the other songs, but...
there there
the gloaming
sail to the moon
sit down. stand up
go to sleep
whereiendandubegin
scatterbrain
2+2=5
myxomatosis
a wolf at the door
also, i can't remember where i found that
So it might be fake.
Sail to the moon?
snoozefest
I love Pyramid Song and even Codex
but I can't say I've ever gone out of my way to listen to Sail to the Moon. And if it hasn't clicked by now, it never will.
I completely agree.
i disagree
i think it's a lovely song
This is real
same thing thom posted on dead air a few years ago. I quite like it, though I'm not a big fan of scatterbrain
the album is massively helped by just taking punch up out
not quite sure how that made the cut
not to mention We Suck Young Blood
slows the album right down
Saw them live in Auckland last night
insanely good, and amazing crowd atmosphere. I managed to get about 10th in line so was right up the front. There was a guy who'd come all the way from Singapore and had been lining up since 5pm the day before!!!!! I know Radiohead has some crazy fans... But wow.
As most others have been saying, The King of Limbs songs translate really well live. Songs that never did anything for me before like The Gloaming and Feral were absolutely phenomenal. You really have to be able to feel that bass to appreciate those ones. Does make me wonder if Nigel could have done a better job in mixing though.
We sang Jonny happy birthday and Thom gave us a little clap. They were a bit jet-lagged (i.e. hungover from Jonny's party the night before.) Other than that they were in good spirits and Thom's voice sounded great (although started to falter towards the end.)
Come to New Zealand more often, eh lads? Ta.
