by a country mile for me
it's about 10 on the album surely
but the rat sounds like pigeon detectives. Song sucks
you're an idiot
We're in this together!
But you really can't fuck with The Rat. Dem drums.
the drums on pretty much any Walkmen song. guy is a beast
the guy is like always in this controlled scream. But yes, the drums are pure.
How? Still can't get past that. The Rat wins.
hokey drunken pseudo irish springsteen wannabes
springsteen dig is mostly true though.
but it's been played to death at indie club nights.
I really don't like Titus Andronicus at all though.
Never been to an indie club, so I obviously win this duel between us.
doesn't mean what you think it means
I *WILL* come to the brudenell. There's some arse-kicking I've been meaning to catch up on. Namely YOURS.
think it's cos they never use full chords, it's just root notes and a guy with no melody in his voice. flat as fuck.
he said i'd love it so i came into it on the back of mad hype, just felt completely empty, can't see it at all.
but Richard 2 is the bestest. Proper bo that song is
Funny cos the melody on that flute thing sounds similar to the melody on the guitar in AMPU.
but only ever seen them as solid rather than anything spectacular.
The Walkmen on the other hand are a really great band and this is arguably their best tune, even though it has been played to death.
Easy win for the Walkmen
it's just... boring. Not rocky enough that it's just GOOD CLEAN FUN, not interesting enough to make me want to pick out the details and everything.
So yeah... the rat.
The Rat is great an' all but A More Perfect Union is slightly more...visceral, which is exactly what the Rat aims for but I prefer how TA do it.
You want to know if I'd rather eat a cheeseburger or have someone shit directly into my mouth? I'll take the cheeseburger, thanks.
without knowing which track you actually prefer
The opening verse is perfect, and incredible scene setting for the rest of the album.
By a mile.
always surprised that people on here actually like the Walkman
but really was/is one of the best portable cassette/CD players around. when's the last time you saw someone walking around with a Walkman on?
trolling aside, mine and yours, The Walkmen are a class act and one of the better and more consistent live bands.
I'd put that song up against pretty much anything that's been written in the past 20 years, never mind a Titus Andronicus album track!
