1 - love reggie watts. an electronic producer i know sampled a reggie watts scream in a tech-house track and you'd have no idea it was a big bear of a man making that noise. his google thing is one of my top things of the week http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGetsXib_zA
2 - going to sleep music. been pretty miserable this week so i've needed music like this so i can indulge in the self indulgent monster that is heartache
3 - really interesting stuff. almost making 'outsider' electronic music. the whole mathematics label is just fantastic
4 - world of echo always <3
5a - fuck me richie really was talented wasn't he. the whole plastikman back catalogue is just really untouchable. why did he discover traktor and sake whyyyy
5b - anyone who likes foetus should definatly check out this guy. so so good. lullaby land especially
12b - i'm just an abslolute sucker for this sound. people like him, villalobos, the three romanions, perlon etc etc. lovely organic house and everything that cadenza and luciano aren't
12c - headfuck headfuck headfuck. stupid name taken from a tounge-in-cheek mnml ssgs blog post by still, it isn't half desriptive mind. her and donato dozzy and mike parker and labels like prologue have just been blowing my mind. dozzy & mike parker are playing corsica in a couple weeks. incredibly excited to see a dozzy set for the first time
I am playing the Liquid Sex EP cos I just fixed my turntable. "Lost in Translation" is maybe my favourite Hieroglyphic Being. Not on youtube though, it's just "Liquid Sex" mislabelled for some reason :(

Been on a bit of a rap trip over the last few days, and see it continuing for a good few weeks. Just realised that I've never listened to loads of the classic rap albums in the way that I've listened to the classic rock/indie/etc albums and thought it was time to correct that.
2 - So far seems the same deal as A$AP Rocky's mixtape; a few standout tracks surrounded by other, really similar and yet inferior songs. Plus on the whole this veers away from the more melodic, chilled stuff of Rocky's that I liked best. Will certainly grow on me though
3 - Just Section.80 stuff so far. Some of the stuff seemed to lack some focus and clear melody but the most complete songs were amazing, great open two tracks
6 - 36 Chambers is the best of the classics I've got through so far. I was a bit ambivalent after the first 5 tracks (Shame On A Nigga aside) but the last half is flat out gold. Gold I say. This will be getting repeat listening forever, no doubt
7 - Felt a bit out of the loop on new releases recently, so gave this a shot. Awful. Sounds like a cross between the singers from Bombay Bicycle Club and Noah And The Whale, trying to do something "cool" and "interesting", and failing dismally. NEXT.
8c - Basically the same deal as the Kendrick Lamar album, though prefer that a bit more than this. There He Go sampling Menomena is probably my favourite use of a sample in ages, apart from Danny Brown using Metronomy. Hands on The Wheel and Hatin' Joint are great too
TOTW: Kendrick Lamar - Ronald Reagan Era. Just a great beat, and his flow is so smooth
It grows on you, lots of interesting production and his rap style is always engaging. It didn't grab me straight away but I much prefer it to Section 80 now.
